Best way to showcase Engelland would be to not let other teams see how bad he sucks. He has one use, and that use isn't really important, so he's basically useless.

Dallas Eakins' seat has to already be warming up... that team had no fire whatsoever

Engelland is fine as a 7th d man. I'm not gonna get too worked up about him either way

Yeah, somebody mentioned this last night in NPR. It's crazy to have so many high draft picks and not even be mediocre. I think Edmonton provides a strong counter-example to the argument made by stupid Flyers' fans that the Pens are only good because they tanked for a couple years and anyone can be good if you tank for top draft picks.

Shouldn't Hall be their captain by now?

NHL.com had some puff piece last week about why Ference was named captain. The article also included some weird BS support from Tavares.

There would be a big trade before that happens like Yakupov, Hemsky or even Gagner. Hall and Eberle would be untouchable imo. It would be stupid to get rid of Eakins anyways.

I don't think it's so much the number of picks we got, but the fact that we are maybe the first team in history to draft generational talents in consecutive drafts. We DID get fairly lucky there.

71 was on the ice at the end of that game... that's an interesting choice, and he made some good plays including a good back check. Malkin is a good defensive player when he's not being a bonehead.

I'd go as far as to say 8th, tops. He's just too consistently poor with puck decisions in his own end to be a guy you want in the lineup regularly after just one injury. Maatta actually saved his bacon a couple times last night.

eh. he's a guy who's not going to play every night, and has a decent amount of NHL experience. I'm not sure what else we really need out of a guy who is going to sit probably 65+ games this year.
