I had said earlier that I could see something crazy happening like Gemma dying soon, but the more I think about it, I think she will be in it for the long haul. If I remember correctly, Jax doesn't know the extent of her involvement in his father's death (which is why she had those letters destroyed a few seasons back because they hinted at JT's thoughts that she wanted him dead). IMO, one of the major things that will happen as this show culminates will be Jax finding out about Gemma's involvement in his father's death and the fallout from that.
Switching gears a little bit to Clay...We all know that Clay never wanted to get out of guns, but did they ever explain why (I don't remember this being explained)? Every since Clay got booted from the club, went to jail, etc, he has become a pretty sad character (a far fall from the Clay Morrow of the earlier seasons). Perhaps Clay never wanted out of guns because he knew that it would be suicide for the club because of the power of the IRA. As much as I used to hate Clay, I feel sorry for the character now, and it seems to me that Sutter is setting him up to be this total sympathetic character at the end (lost his club, his wife, his "son", all while he was looking out for the best interest of SAMCRO).
