Beat the level 1-7 on the Rollgoal game last night. Played 1-8 a few times. That one is going to be tough. Found the sinking lure on my first shot but haven't found that giant Loach fish yet. Getting the frog lure and catching that loach are the last two fishing things I need. I've just been fishing a little bit because I've been working late and that is a few minutes of wind down time at like 1am.

Hope to get back into regular gameplay next week. I'm on the Temple of Time board.

A new rumor making the rounds on the internet is touting the idea that Nintendo will be making a “ReUmagined” series in which the company gives seven Nintendo 64 games “the Wind Waker HD treatment,” remaking them in HD to be sold on the Wii U eShop. Supposedly, Super Mario 64 would be the first title, followed by six others, and all seven games would feature new content and retail at $30. The idea is that Nintendo would be filling gaps in their Wii U lineup of games by re-releasing the old N64 classics.

That is..... robust. Especially the 64-bit OS requirement and 40 gig (!) install footprint. (most of which is probably that stupid dog)

The last two PC games I played were Bioshock Infinite and Crysis 3. My system handled them pretty well, even at high/max settings. But I'm scraping in one level above minimums on the gfx card.

I read one early PC spec sheet that said a GeForce 780 was recommended. That's a $500-600+ card...glad they ratcheted it down a notch.

I am eagerly (understatement) awaiting BF4 on Tuesday.

I'm in the middle of a PC rebuild:

Spoiler:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor ($184.99 @ NCIX US)
CPU Cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 45.0 CFM Fluid Dynamic Bearing CPU Cooler ($22.99 @ Mwave)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-D3P ATX AM3+/AM3 Motherboard ($89.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($74.99 @ NCIX US)

With AMD's Mantle (system? software?) coming for BF4 in December, I should be good to go for a while. Mantle will allow direct "writing" to the GPU card, bypassing DirectX, allowing for more performance and better framerates - it's similar to what consoles have. No software (or limited ) barrier between the game and hardware.

Remember, tho..... these are the minimums just to be able to run the stupid game. I'm sure they still recommend the 780 (or like) for max performance.

My last rebuild was ~2 years ago.

OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Mobo: MSI 890FXA-GD65 AM3
Proc: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz
Video: MSI R6850 Cyclone PE Radeon 1GB 256-bit GDDR5
PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V
RAM: Patriot Signature 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Audio: Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio 70SB104000000

I think I should still be in good stead for about another year or so before I'll begin to notice display issues. But it seems that gfx cards have definitely crossed a new tech horizon.

I beat the whole game originally without any help...anytime I have gone back to play I don't even attempt the water temple without a guide. I just remember how much I hated being lost for forever 2/3 through that mess!

finished GTA 5 last night, still have some side stuff to clean up but overall I really enjoyed the single player. I haven't gotten into the multiplayer part too much but will probably start putting more time into that now that the main story is finished.

AC4 is really good so far. They didn't coddle you for the first hour or two like they did in 3. Boom right into the action.

review on IGN said the exact same thing, they gave it an 8.5 but said some of the story missions were a drag.

I've only done one actual mission so far. After that I just went and did Assassins contracts and other side stuff. Next thing I knew it was 3 hours later haha.
