It’s been a lifetime, or so it seems, since the Steel City invaded Columbus, Ohio. 1064 days to be exact.
Last time the Pens played in Columbus, the term neck meat hadn’t been conceived, Letestu played for the good guys, Mike Rupp scored a goal for us, and Eric Godard had over 10 minutes of ice time, which tells you it was a blowout.
The game also produced this post game gem between Paul and Bob:
The Pens own a 10-4-0 record entering tonight’s contest, which is good enough for first place in the Metro Division and tied at the top of the Eastern Conference. Last night these two teams danced for 60 minutes with Flower holding the fort for the first 20 and the Pens used a 3 goal outburst in under 6 minutes to start the second to put the game out of reach. The Pens even managed to change Vezina winner and Consol whisperer Bobrovsky from net. Don’t be surprised if we see him again tonight.
Jeff Zatkoff will be looking for his first NHL win tonight. Hopefully the Pens can contain the scoring chances tonight better than last night or Zatkoff might be looking for his first win again in a couple of weeks.
Tonight’s Gordie Howe Hat Trick is brought to you by Mr. Bortuzzo.
