Personally, I think some of these things are on the list because they represented the cutting edge at the time rather than being particularly 'good'. The YSR stained glass knight and the pseudopod from The Abyss, for example, aren't particularly great, imo. But they were bleeding edge achievements of the day.

Do you enjoy watching things this way? I have a netbook that I watch things on planes, but thats about the only time I've ever watched something on a small screen.
I was listening to a podcast about a big Hollywood confab where the creative people and the technology people get together and talk about various issues (DVRs, binge watching, 3D, UHD, etc) and they had a bunch of USC film students there. NONE of them had a television. None. They all watch content on phones and laptops which just blew my mind (and from the podcast most of those in attendance). One of them said he doesnt care at all about screen size or quality because he cares more about story.

it may have been because I was tired, watching it at an airport on my iphone. the wife wants to watch it as well, so I'll likely give it another go at some point.

Always maintained that if you replace the word 'bug' with the word 'Jew', the original ST works on an entirely new level.
