Good evening, everybody. Hard to believe the NHL chose this game over what will be I am sure a thrilling Stars/Oilers game for Rivalry Wednesday, but the Pens are nationally televised again. The last two games have not gone well for the Pens, as their offense has gone cold and been unable to convert chances into goals. The goals will come. Hopefully they come tonight against the Flyers. Despite their struggles they still lead the Metropolitan
Patrick Division (I want it to be the Patrick, so let's just call it that until the NHL gives up and agrees with us) by a point with two games in hand over the Capitals. The division so far has been a muddled mess. Hopefully it stays that way.
Tonight's opponent is the hated Flyers, who have started to be a little less inept. They're a respectable 5-4-1 in their last 10 and are tied now for last place in the division. Claude Giroux finally has a goal, ruining the "everyone in this room has as many goals as Giroux" joke. They've already fired their coach and their fans have chanted to fire their GM at home. They started an embarrassing brawl that ended with their goalie committing assault and getting away with it on another goalie. In short, the Flyers suck, and no one here feels a bit sorry for them.
I've learned the magic of Imgur, so we can now display the standings in graphic form:
Would be nice if the Pens could help #LUMBUS get out of the basement. Need to keep winning to stay on top of the division.
Anyway, let's have fun tonight. Losing to these jokes is not an option. I don't want to contemplate the mood of this board tomorrow should that happen.
