getting back to overrated: What movie or directors do you you not get, but when bring it up, movie snobs are like, well I guess you just don't appreciate cinema (and then you punch them in the stomach)?

I saw Ender's Game over the weekend.
It would have been a good SyFy original production.

I probably would've enjoyed 12 Years A Slave a bit more if Hans Zimmer hadn't blatantly ripped off his own score from Inception in it. So many dramatic scenes I just ended up thinking about Inception during because the theme and chord progressions were dead ringers for each other.

Other than that, pretty good movie, but I don't really get the hype.

Inception a sound track is only one song.

Most of the people I "don't like", I get. If someone accuses you of not getting something when you say that you don't like it, they're probably an ass.

I like Luhrmann flicks, but they are vastly overrated. I should say i liked Moulin Rouge, Australia, and Romeo+Juliet.

I get the Wes Anderson disdain that a lot of people have. I compare them all to tenenbaums and rushmore...which maybe unfair, but they are great. everything else is just trying to be them.

I actually couldn't stand Rushmore. I was told I didn't get it. :pop: It must have had some extra Wes Anderson magic that all of his other movies didn't have because I "got" those.

Spike Lee treads in the "overrated" category for me most of the time. But not all.

Before the Wrestler, I'd have says Aronofsky could only make one movie. :pop:

I think it's just such an amazing true story. I guess i'm a little surprised this guy isn't more known. I took a lot of early american history classes in college and never heard of him.

What is "the to do list"? I don't remember putting it on my queue, but netflix just shipped it. Also the way way back looks good, hoping to watch that tonight.

Watched Temple Grandin last night. Quite a fascinating story. Reminded me a lot of Take Shelter, in that the movie seems to do a good job of forcing the viewer to experience the mental disability. (schizophrenia in Take Shelter, autism in this story). I would like to see some accounts from people with autism to state the accuracy of the film.
