There is a difference between being a rival and "the biggest" rival.

I think the Pens top two are the Caps and the Flyers. I vote Caps at #1 for myself, but I think the Flyers would get more votes overall. I think that the Rangers have really fallen off for us. 20 years ago I would have said Rangers, Flyers, Bruins.

see, right now the Bruins just have so many players to hate. I guess they aren't a "rival" yet but that seems to be the way the teams are heading.

Arguably the most complete win of the season thus far

It would have been 12-0 if not for that bum Malkin stinking up the joint.

Most complete game the Pens have played in a long, long time. Good for them.

If I had to pick a team for them to play like that against, this was it.

According to JR Holtby should have stopped all of those. He is solely responsible for the caps losing that game.

Well, if they had a SHUT DOWN goalie like the Pens do, it would have been a 0-0 tie after 20 rounds of the shootout! So, thank God the Caps do not have a shut down goalie!

That had to be the easiest shutout in Penguin history. Andy Brown could have come back and posted that one. Where has that team been all year???????????

this is the type of game that gives me hope in the playoffs seeing the team play with this great defensive structure and goaltending. great performance.

Excellent game by BB, maybe his best since Game 1 vs the Islanders last spring. The coaches need to stick with this kid and let him develop!!

MAF had an easy time of it, but he was there when he needed to be. Guy needs some rest though.

This. Structure beat the Caps tonight, and they were not prepared for this type of Penguin team. On a side note, perhaps it is best that the team get a system in place that works and evaluates all its components before we all start talking about them "adding" anything. The exception is of course a backup goalie, which won't be a problem. Serviceable backups are a dime a dozen.

Agreed. Nothing wrong with doing both. I think this game was a good example of getting a lot of shots on goal but also trying to make plays. Just before this play I think they almost scored from like 3 quick shots (Malkin just wide, Sid off the post).

This goal is straight from Southpointe. 4 guys, 4 touches in 2 seconds. Perfect shot.

EDIT: because weird post.

Pens completely restructured their defensive approach this year. I don't understand how people didn't expect some bumps (and they aren't even there yet and missing "the piece").

Martin and Orpik shut down Ovie and company. Guess Bylsma got lucky putting them on the ice at the right time since he doesn't match lines.
