It won't be fun to get to a game at near that interchange either. It's a money-grab plain and simple. Not that I have a problem with that (it's not my money).

Braves allegedly interested in Lohse or Lackey. I'd prefer Lohse.

Without a move, this is the Braves rotation with out a move.

• Mike Minor (25)
• Kris Medlen (28)
• Julio Teheran (22)
• Brandon Beachy (27)
• Alex Wood (22) or David Hale (26)

Of course...thats largely what it was this year and they were the best rotation in baseball, so this gets them through the regular season. Hopefully Teheran evolves into the ace because he's the one that has stuff to do damage in the playoffs...otherwise they're building the team for regular season titles. Makes sense that i'm a fan of them as well as the Pens. :scared:

That was about a year and 14 million outside the Braves budget. :pop:

At least they would be successful, better that then building a team that will compete for the basement of the MLB (or in the Pens case the NHL). Plus it's very difficult to win the title every year and most years you'll come up short. Sometimes all you can hope for is a competitive regular season. Of course that means nothing to the people around here in any sport. Including yourself.

Obviously you missed the early 90s through the mid 2000s with regards to division titles. My expectations are skewed. :pop:

But seriously I want a team built that has a good chance to win. I don't think you can do that with a bunch of finesse pitchers. I think Teheran is going to develop into that pitcher they can lean on for 2-3 games in a series though.

"Top overall prospect" is misleading when its an outfielder. I guess thats most sure thing to make the MLB? Random thoughts.

Reading comprehension fail....I actually highly doubt anything else is going to Detroit. Offloading that contract

The pre-game buffet expense was too high?

Does this mean they keep scherzer or are they still moving him so they dont lose him for nothing?

Appears nothing else is.. Detroit really doesn't save anything until 2018, with the $30M they kick in here they're basically paying Kinsler what they would've paid Fielder for 2014-2017. That's the part that confuses me is they don't save anything right now to use for big upgrades. Not the worst deal in the world and depending on what else they do they could end up a better team overall. Kinsler seems like the type that won't age well and has already started to decline and when you're paying him just as much as Fielder it just seems weird.

Yeah I don't understand the trade from Detroit's perspective.

That's about as win win trade as you can get.

Tigers get out of that long term contract, get Cabrera off of third base, bring Castellanos up and get a franchise 2nd baseman. Getting out of that long term commitment is likely an alternative to having to trade Scherzer.

Rangers fill a hole at 1B with a needed left handed power bat and clear a space for Profar to take over as an everday player.

Kinsler and Fielder both had down years last year, I don't think it's correct to assume Kinsler is on the downside but Fielder isn't.

Pretty fair trade I think. Hopefully Texas has the sense to put Prince at DH.

Moreland would logically play first, but it sounds like they intend to use Fielder at a 1B. If they end up with McCann I could see the two splitting a lot of DH time.
