I'll be watching as much hockey and curling as I can. I also enjoy the biathlon and can't wait to see Putin skiing the course bare-chested.

As far as the Winter Olympics go, I'll watch almost any sport. Even figure skating (if nothing else is on).

I'm more of a winter olympic guy over Summer.

Skiing, hockey and bobsledding are better than anything summer can offer IMO.

I'm torn on this issue. on the one hand I'd like to see all "judged" sports removed from the Olympics. too subjective, imo. on the other hand, have you ever tried to do any of those figure skating moves, even the easy ones? that **** is damn hard!

Figure Skating is athletic, but its not a sport.

Is high jump a sport?

How about golf, auto racing, or shot put?

I'm loathe to start that debate, but auto racing (long duration) requires a respectable amount of physical and mental endurance.

The Russian judge can't overturn a hole-in-one. By the premise of the discussion: yes-yes-yes-yes.

So because it is a judged activity it is therefore not a sport? Is that the definition we are going with?

That's the definition I'm going with, arbitrary or not. I've gone down this road with motorsport and there isn't an end. Figure Skating/Gymnastics, where the judges are more important than the competitors are not sports. They're athletic fashion shows. They're competitions, games, shows, exhibitions, matches, etc. But they're not sporting events. I guess I'm allowing myself to be sucked into this discussion because I just watched that Harding/Kerrigan 30-for-30 the other day and it really reinforced how I've always felt about judged competitions.

If it's a sport to you, cool. It's a level of athleticism most people can never achieve and I'm not demeaning that, but calling it sporting is dubious at best.
