Why not just ESPN in general? 2:50 PM, some dumb woman anchor reported the Pens got Kesler. No one else was reporting it at the time, and it didn't happen.

Yup I saw that too. I had just moved some cable boxes around and was flipping channels to make sure everything was hooked up right. Hit ESPN & saw Barry Melrose & stopped for a sec since the deadline was near. She reported that the Pens got Kessler just as the segment was ending. BM commented that 'the rich get richer'. Very original, Barry.

Perhaps the television picked up a transmission from an alternate dimension.

This one really chaps my gears: When people don't return their buggy to the buggy return station in Giant Eagle's parking lot.

It makes me insane with anger. But not angry enough to go get the buggy and return it for them.

New Ken area, I believe. I dated a girl from that area and she used the term buggy.

Networks that show reruns (usa... i'm looking at you) and play back to back episodes of a TV show, but skip 3 or 4 episodes in between. It especially drives me nuts when the first of the back to back episodes is a "to be continued" and then they skip 4 episodes forward. Wtf?

I exclusively watch live episodes and netflix/hulu/actually buy seasons, so thats not an issue anymore, but it was indeed craziness.

HBOGo for the PS3. Everything about it is awesome, except the picture quality. Might as well be watching on a distorted LCD monitor streaming from a 14.4k modem. All the same content is available from DirecTV HBO OD, but their interface is primitive. The HBO OD stuff is crystal clear, exactly like the real time channel.

I think I found a total asinine pattern to this. Say USA shows 4 30-minute episodes of a series everyday from 12-2 and the noon episode is a to be continued episode, the second part will be shown the next day at noon.

I'd be surprised if "buggy" was confined to such a small geographical area. I'm from Latrobe area. We've always called it a "buggy".

Yeah, my grandma called it a buggy and she's from Whitney/Latrobe. My Mom and the rest of us didn't pick that one up, though.

Well, she was originally from state college. Maybe it is more of a central PA term then?

Quite possibly as I'm actually from a little farther out past Ligonier, not yet to Johnstown though.

Either way, put the buggy back in the buggy holder! :scared:

The names of a shopping cart vary by region. The following names are regional-specific names for shopping carts:

Shopping cart – the United States and Canada.
Trolley/shopping trolley – the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and some regions of Canada.
Barrae - Some places in Scotland
Carriage/shopping carriage – Used by some in the New England region of the United States.
Buggy – Some regions of Canada, Detroit, Michigan, Colorado, parts of the Southern United States and Pittsburgh, the latter case often being considered a word related to Pittsburghese.
Bascart/basket – various regions.
Wagon – New York, Hawaii

In the History section:

The invention did not catch on immediately. Men found them effeminate; women found them suggestive of a baby carriage. "I've pushed my last baby buggy," an offended woman informed Goldman.

From now on I endeavor to call it a shopping trolley. I'll also start saying "Fire brigade".
