Archie Andrews, a staple of American comics since 1941, will die in Wednesday's issue of Life with Archie. And he'll say goodbye to the series with one last act of heroism: Archie will take a bullet meant for best friend Kevin Keller, the first openly gay character in his comic universe. In doing so, he'll foil an assassination attempt against Keller and, according to the story's creators, give rise to greater understanding and tolerance in his fictional town of Riverdale.

I don't care about Archie either way, but this just seems dumb. Why is it necessary to "kill off" Archie? And what, to make a political statement?

I agree.

if i know anything about comics, Archie's death will just lead to 4 Archie imposters battling it out, only for one to be an old rival inhabiting the conscious of a machine/clone hybrid, and the REAL Archie, turning out to only be in a "Healing Coma", returns from his absence to stop the evil Archie from destroying the world.

That's the last of 3 big hills that you go up and down on your way from Frederick to I-81 and points west. EVERYONE was doing around 90 at that point. South mountain crests and then goes downhill on a slight left curve surrounded by trees for about 1/10 of a mile before entering a long straight away. The cop was sitting about 1/4 mile away at the bottom of the hill. I am just the unlucky shlub who got pegged.

I can say that I will certainly be more careful and vigilant about my speed coming down from those hills in the future.

Went to D.C. often as a child, and I have the image of MD cops pulling over speeders on the I-70 corridor between Frederick and Rockville seared into my brain.

From what I understand, Life with Archie is a different universe and isn't part of the true Archie canon (yes, ffs).

"Life with Archie follows the parallel universes of Archie's married lives with both Betty and Veronica, combined with teen-magazine style features. Paul Kuppererg authors these new stories, based on a concept created by Michael Uslan. Since the makeover, the series has somewhat fallen under the genre of soap opera."

So this dual-universe spinoff was ending anyway, so they're using the gay equality crowd to drum up some publicity. No surprise since the only issue in the history of Archie ever to need a reprint was, surprise surprise, the issue where they gay character came out.

It's a cash/publicity grab exploiting the very people rallying around it.

Annnnd, there is your daily dose of cynicism in case you haven't had your fill.

I wouldn't doubt that Comcast said something to this guy like "If you have cancellations you're losing your job."

I can't imagine someone is that intrinsically dedicated to retaining customers.

They are probably compensated for retaining customers who want to cancel.

I know back when I worked at VZW and someone wanted to cancel, we had to try at least 3 save attempts on that call. If we didn't and they monitored that call we would fail, and that led to being put on probation and eventually getting fired.

Now that's no excuse if that Rep was condescending and a total jerk(I didn't listen to the call), but as someone who used to be in a similar position, sometimes Reps have to ask those questions as much as they don't want to.

We had a massive electrical storm today and most of the red lights were stuck on flashing.
I was actually impressed that most people got the concept that alternating was the only way to deal with the situation.

Resume question: I'm helping my dad write a resume, he hasn't done this in thirty years.. He went to college, but didnt graduate. Would you put an education section and show HS graduate? Show some college? Or just not do an education section? In my opinion, after thirty years in his field and just off a COO job, I think education 35 years ago is sort of pointless. Thoughts? Thanks

He has more than enough education in his work history than to list a college that he attended some 30 years ago.

List any relevant classes if needed for education.

I see more than enough resumes with stellar disciplines listed than a highlight of work accomplishments.

Hang in there, don't lose hope, and realize the landscape has changed.
