Not particularly happy about it, as Pitt is my Alma Mater. At least my employer is moving up...

Pitt blows. They tend to do things like get a decent ranking once, and then brag about it for 23 years.

Did you see their grades:

Facilities and Services: C
Job Placement: C

And C's were the lowest grades... good going guys!

They also had one of the worst student to teacher ratios. "All praise the 800 seat autidoriums!"

Since I moved to Fayetteville (~6 years ago), UofA moved up by more than 30 places. So, using the rule of extrapolation...

Look at the average SAT score for MD. I would be rejected today, but overall average scores seem to have risen in the last few decades so maybe I'd have a 1600 by now. :P

The Accounting department was ranked #2 in journal articles published when I got my degree, but MD has always been known as a very strong Engineering, Com Sci, Math, Physics, etc school. A business degree required less than 5% the intelligence and effort an Engineering degree required at MD IMO.

Maybe your kids will end up there someday as an in-state option. I don't know if I could stomach my kids going to PSU.

I agree wholeheartedly. Unless, you are talking about the FINANCE degree!

Of course, I have Master in Math&Engineering degree myself... 8)

I'm lazy. I have an Accounting degree and decided to go into sales because I knew I would never spend the study time necessary to pass the CPA exam. I couldn't even force myself to get an MBA.
