If true, I hope they aren't giving up our first round pick in the deal.

We'd all drive JJ to the airport. Can't imagine it's him. No way.

Can't be: Crosby, Malkin
Won't be: Letang
Hope it isn't: the first-rounder
No chance we're that lucky: JJ

Dreger reported something was being worked on. A bit later, Friedman said Kapanen was being traded to PIT. Molinari has chimed in, just saying there are multiple reports out of Toronto of the trade about Kapanen. Nothing further.

There are a lot of jokes/half jokes/worried jokes that Jack Johnson is involved.

What I'm wondering: TOR decides it needs a playoff-type player. Hornqvist.

I would be fine with that, but, unless Toronto has a bunch of moves lined up, that's a big gamble. Their bleeding cap space and will need to acquire a few dead contracts to survive. Kapanen for Hornqvist is a bigger cap loss for them, almost 2M extra coming. Doubtful.

Problem with Hornqvist is the salary, they would be adding more than Kapanen currently makes, which doesn't make sense for Toronto who's up against the cap.

David Panotta of the 4th period accidentally tweeted out that "hearing Jack Johnson might be part of the return." Which is where all the JJ jokes/panic is coming from.

Yohe has also now stated he can confirm that Kapanen to Pittsburgh is happening. Everyone waiting to hear what is going the other way.

How about: Kapanen for Legare and Jack Johnson. That would make my day.

I can't believe Toronto would take on JJ, unless the rest of the return was just too good to pass up.

I would rather the Pens big piece being Murray or Pettersson.

Do you really think Toronto would make that move? I like Legare, but he's certainly not a sure bet.

I saw the same.

So, Kapanen for Jack Johnson and a 1st?

(BTW, Kingerski is swinging at daisies in left field, blindfolded. So far, he said he heard Hallander may be involved).

I thought Patric Hornqvist had a list of teams he too would approve for a trade.

Let's see how this shakes out~ GMJR not a drafting kind of a GM.

Kapanen and D prospect Jesper Lindgren for Hallander and our 1st round pick is what I'm starting to piece together.

(Blind Kingerski gets a hit, but he's not the only one saying Hallander).

Molinari now confirms Penguins have acquired Kapanen. Nobody has full, 100% details on a return. Biggest things out there is that 23 yr old RD Jesper Lindgren also coming to Pittsburgh (former 4th round pick), and that Hallander and 2020 1st rounder going the other way.

At least we shouldn't have to see Simon on Crosby's wing anymore.
