I'm not sure I see this distinction. IoC isn't Pittsburgh-based either.

My take on this is that although the IOC are not based in Pittsburgh as well, they are willing to give much more back to the city. I see Ratner/Forrest City as simply trying to use the Pittsburgh venue to make more money for their own means. Their "givebacks" are minimal at best. Having all their bases covered by deep-seeded, well though out political means only adds fuel to that fire.

Not only this, but I wonder if the impact studies show the strain on the infrastructure that would most likely be created by such a development in such a small area. It will probably COST the city after everything is factored in for road construction, etc.

That's what I'm thinking dboss. I see the city getting roped into a new off ramps for the Fort Pitt Bridge and the Liberty Bridge to aleviate traffic. Paid for, mind you , from tax money!!

Nice to see that old traditions continue, and any dissent constitutes being a "troll."

No, posting something completely irrelevant to the discussion constitutes being a troll. Perhaps you should take that into account.

Beano Cook could take part in a male bathhouse orgy on every other thursday for all I care, the point is that his words regarding the situation were true. His sexual preference might be comical, but it's material for a thread in the off-topic discussions, not this one.

Beano Cook is irrelevant on any subject other than college football in the 1950s. His opinion doesn't bolster your argument.
