A quick translation:
"Evgeni Malkin has gone AWOL from Metallurg. As a source at the club told a gazeta.ru reporter, the forward, who came to Finland with his team to hold a training camp has left the team on Saturday with his personal belongings and travel documents. His whereabouts are unknown."

Yeah, but the translators are so much more fun to read:
Evgenie Malkin attacking Magnitogorsk "Metallurgist" autocratically has left an arrangement of a command. As has informed the correspondent « Newspapers. Ru » a source in the Ural hockey club, the forward who has arrived with "Metallurgist" on ó÷åáÃÂî-training gathering to Finland, on Saturday has left from an arrangement of a command in a unknown direction, having taken with itself documents and personal things.

I refuse to allow this "report" to get me too excited. Who knows how dependable this is?
Maybe one of our russian friends can let us all know if the source of this report is a trusted part of the russian media...
Man, the emotional rollercoaster of this whole Malkin saga is becomming too much. I sure hope this is true, but i have my doubts.

Best Saturday morning news post. Ever.
Is Operation Bob a success? ***? PFIM?
I don't even care if it's really true. It's just nice to be thrown a bone to hope that he'll be here.
But based on the saga thus far, about this time tomorrow, we'll get a report that Evgeni was simply AWOL to make a quick trip to his wonderful new prison restaurant to make sure things are going well.

I'm sure it's only a coincidence that Rocco and pfim are not on the board at this time.

He probably left the tournament to tend to a problem in the kitchen of his restaurant.

If Malkin is in fact “defectingâ€￾ to the US, does he have to clear waivers before he can play with the Pens, considering that he played an exhibition game for Metallurg the other night?

Once the Pens play game one of the NHL regular season, he's no eligible to play in Europe without losing his eligibility. Malkin's escape has likely been in the works for a few weeks, I'm starting to wonder if Meehan was just a pawn to throwoff the Russians.

At this point, is this really a surprise? This drama is an unbelievable rollercoaster. Could this mean anything other than Malkin coming to Pittsburgh?

Malkin's latest run-in with the law began when police noticed a vehicle driving erratically, prompting a highway chase that ended with police spiking the SUV's tires. Officers said they could not easily subdue Malkin because he was wearing a bulletproof vest that thwarted their stun guns.
After police using pepper spray finally got him into handcuffs, the 6-foot, 190-pounder continued to struggle, kicking at the doors of the transport vehicle. Officers also put a cloth mask over Malkin's mouth after they say he spat at them.
Malkin was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and a traffic violation, and police said more charges are possible. Bond on those charges was set at $5 million, which Malkin's attorneys said he most likely would not be able to pay.
He was driving a few blocks from the home of a woman scheduled to testify against him in his robbery trial. In that case, witnesses said Malkin flashed a gun and robbed them of a cell phone behind a Moscow nightclub.
