Chilling for me to read PG's Shelly Anderson's 1/25/06 article again after Mario's retirement, read part on Rick Tocchet's impressions of Wayne, Mario & Mess near middle of page:
"their resume if you look at all 3 guys, they're pretty clean guys...no scandals, no front page this or that..."

Kinda makes you wonder why he would say that.....
Sadly, Mario was always on the front page..... for all his serious injuries.
I do remember stories of Messier and his failed marriage, and the son he didn't interact with until the child was in his teens? Thankfully it didn't get dragged out for media display, but he certainly was not the "golden one" compared to Mario or Wayne.
