Postby jkorber75 on Wed Aug 13, 2008 2:44 am

mine was 10/22/88, pens vs blackhawks. i was 7. i still have the program. the memory i most have of the game is lemieux getting a bunch of points and the crowd singing the "na na na na goodbye" song near the end.

what was your first?

I think was like 4 years old, I got carried onto the ice by Iceberg.
I want to say it was a Pens-Devils game, I have a picture of Iceberg holding me up at center ice. :) I was rocketing the mullet back then B).

The earliest game I vividly remember was Straka's OT winner vs. Buffalo in Game 6 of that series, but therer were games before that.

Went with my dad to see the Pens play the Blackhawks in the late 80s... IIRC Dave Hannan scored the winning goal with 5 seconds left in regulation. Was a high scoring game like 6-5 or 7-6 or so.

Playoff game vs the Caps back in 95 or so. I believe we won 3-0.

My first Penguin game was Dec 21st, 1999 at the Maple Leaf Gardens. The Pens got slapped around by the Leafs 7-2.

My first Penguin game on home ice came last fall Oct 10th against the Canadiens, another loss 3-2 :(

I have concluded that I am flat out a bad luck charm for the Pens. I have watched them 5 times in 3 different cities and they only won 1 of those games.

~1981 against Marcel Dionne, Larry Murphy and the Kings (in their purple and yellow sweaters).
Mike Bullard must have been on that Pens squad.
As was usually the case, the Pens lost.

I can't remember what year my first game was although I know it was in the early 80's...I'll never forget it. The Pens were up 6-0 vs Detroit and the final was a 6-6 tie. I couldn't believe it.

I can't remember the exact date, but it was around 1988 or 1989. The Pens played the Kings.

I was 8, 1995 playoffs game 5 vs the Caps. Pens won 6-5 in OT and then won games 6 & 7 to comeback from down 3-1.

Before that game I had never watched hockey in my life, after that game I watch any game I can.

Mine was 2000 vs. Philadelphia at the (then) FU Center. There was a line brawl and JS Aubin fought Beezer

You people are mere children. My first game was a Saturday afternoon game against the BlackHawks, February 1971. Pens won 5-4, a fairly big upset. Only 2-3 players wore helmets, Stan Mikita being one of them. Les Binkley was in goal, I believe. I sat in C level, and the ticket cost $5. Back then, A/B was $6, and D was $4.

Here's another old one: Feb. 1, 1969 vs. Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

I remember the Penguins scoring the first two goals of the game and then getting blown out, 7-3. I remember the star of the game being Brad Park, who I think was a rookie then.

Don't remember who scored the Penguins' goals.

Mine was in 1975. It was against the Boston Bruins, and I was 10 years old. I sat in D section and thought it was the greatest thing in the world.

I cannot remember, but it was around 1977 or so. I was about 12 then and my cousin and I used to hop the bus to town and go to Saturday afternoon games. We'd get in for about $4 and sit about 5-6 rows off the ice!

Don't remember too much about it, but it was in 1972-73 versus Chicago, I believe.

Mine was my senior year in HS in January 1999 vs Carolina, don't remember the date. I had been a fan since I was 10 but never got to go to a game. My brother got me tickets for my birthday that year, best birthday present ever. We sat in the F section on the far side on the very last row and I couldn't have cared less. It wan an amazing experience.

Now I have a job and can afford tickets. I still get giddy every time I go to a game. And to bring the story full circle, this season I got to go to my first playoff game ever and got to sit in F section, far side... very last row. It might not mean much to you all, but it was a big moment for me.
