Bisso, Pesonen, and Thomas all deserved to make the trip at least.

Very glad to see the roster. It looks great.

I could be wrong, but wasn't the roster extended from 23 to 24, not 25? I find it very hard to believe Thomas, Bissonnette AND Pesonen all made the team. One of the three is heading to the AHL.

No, only 2 will be making the trip.

The Penguins must remove one more player from their roster by Friday.

According to a source Michel Therrien is pushing hard for the team to keep Bissonnette on the roster. A decision on Bissonnette will go down to the 11th hour.

But they are flying out today, right? So they all make the trip, but only 2 are actually on the roster.

Ah, ok. I was under the impression they'd trim it down completely before leaving.

Anyone else find it funny that TIOPS put the story up exactly when the PG did, yet there's no credit given?

I doubt it, Eric. If they were going to cut someone else, it would have been announced with Richmond and James. They're likely taking 25 players to Europe and will eat the cost for the extra who will be cut Friday. The PG says nothing about one more cut coming before the flight, and it specifically mentions a Friday deadline.

My thinking is that Pesonen makes the roster permanently. So does Taffe.
.
Biz Nasty makes the team, and plays sparingly.

Curry and Thomas both play for WBS after the Sweden trip.

Anyone worried about missing West Point this year?

I believe we can attribute the last 2 yrs, at least some, to the trip to West Point and the Teammate building drills.

I think Thomas makes it, Bissonette to start in WBS.

can't they take 25 over there in case someone gets hurt and an emergency callup would be warranted? and that 25th guy is technically not on the roster but still is there just in case

That's my guess. They'll "demote" one player Friday, and he'll continue to travel with the team.

TIOPS had it up well before PG. Quit trying to make up stuff. It gets old.

We play again on Thursday so i would guess that the 3 guys in question will all get a look during that game and the final cut decision made sometime after the game.

It's hard to believe, but Bissonnette might have actually made the team. They might not be confident that he'll clear waivers - that's a big plus for him. If he does make the team, I hope we hear the last of people worrying about the team's toughness.

Don't hold your breath - people will still actively worry about it. For some reason, in certain aspects, Penguins fans still view this team the same way they did six or seven years ago. It took almost all of last season before many even acknowledged that the defense was good.

I expect the worse from people and their opinions. The team will never be tough enough, the defense will never be good enough, and Sid's wingers will always be inadequate.
