Kovalchuk-Crosby-Dupuis
Shanahan-Malkin-Sykora
Fedotenko-Talbot-Cooke
Kennedy-Zigomanis-Godard/Bissonnette
I like that. I might try it on NHL 09.

WOW... Ilya in a Pens uniform... something just seems unnatural about that. BUT, man would he look good on Sid's wing.

I think its way to early for "trade deadline" rumors. I doubt ATL is giving up on their season already.

This deal wouldn't be surprising because Lemieux and Burkle apparently pushed Shero to pull the trade for Hossa so they could be doing it for Kovalchuk and Shero traded Espo without Espo playing a game in a Pen's uniform. This is Staal's 3rd season to prove himself. I'd swear at times he doesn't look like he even wants to be out there.

That's the thing too but Kovalchuck looked ticked off in last night's game and I don't think Shero would wait for the deadline like he did for Hossa last year. Shero even said he talked to Waddell about Hossa at the allstar game and then nothing happened. Yea maybe nothing will happen right away but I wouldn't be surprised if we got Kovalchuk.

If we acquire Kovalchuk, three things will happen:
1) The Penguins will need to look no further for someone who can score, let alone shoot the puck.
2) We can listen to MT refer to him as "Kovachoo" every pre game/post game.
3) I might make a "WWIKD" account.

That, and Geno misses Sarge... I think they're both clinically depressed over it.

Ilya makes 7.5 this year and next year. Would the pens just be responsible for his cap hit of 6.4 million?
Your right, Kovy makes $7.5M I'll fix it.

How dare you call him "Kovy"! Yeah, we'd need a new nickname for him. "Chuck" won't do.

"Kovachoo", ftw.
And that would be a wicked username... (see what I did there?)

The only reason I think that this trade (or something similar) could be in the works, is because Eklund hasn't reported anything like it yet. (E17)

Kris Letang is the deal breaker...he stays.
Yeah there aren't many deals in which I give up Letang that I can think of.

as long as army's not coming back, im for it. even if sid and kovalchuk didn't click, you could always try him with malkin. and imagine being down late in the game and putting out sid, malkin, kovalchuk, gonch when he's back, and maybe sykora/satan/fedotenko

Umm, obviously if kovy is brought in he's playing with staal, or talbot if stall is traded.

The second one, about Cojac. We're basically just having fun wondering "what if"

kovalchuk's contract isn't enticing enough to make this deal. do a swap straight up kovy/staal and i'm game.

Kovalchuk isn't a good wing option for Crosby. Pens need to find strong wingers who can battle in the corners, skate, responsible defensively, and fire a good one-timer. You know someone like Marian Hossa (you may have heard of him... oh well).
