If you're in the mood for shooting monsters... endless, endless waves of monsters... I'm talking giant piles of corpses here... then install Serious Sam. The screams of those headless suicidal bomb bastards will haunt your dreams.
Dude, I took your advice and installed Serious Sam first. I am having so much fun!!! I already did the First Encounter.
You weren't kidding about the number of monsters. Sometimes it's actually pretty overwhelming. Love the rocket lancher! Reminds of the one in DeusEx, but here you can use it over and over and over again.
I also have to say that this here is the best example of aerial monsters I've seen in a game to date. I'm talking about those Harpy things. 50 or 100 will follow you high in the sky, then you blast them with that rocket launcher or the minigun. Man, this is absolutely awesome. The walking robots also remind of the ones from DeusEx.
Oh, those screaming Kamikaze guys with the bombs piss me off. They run faster than you do, so you can't run away and they just swarm you.
The final boss was HUGE. Listed at 330 feet tall. Never seen one that big before.
I thought that the SS Gold was both SS1 and 2, by the way, but these are Encounters 1 and 2. I need to buy SS2.
I now just started the Second Encounter. The graphics are so beautiful for an older game. Better than in the first one. Really, it's a pleasure to be in the game. And is it me or is this one harder than the first one?
You need to get to work on playing those games.
Yeah, tell me about it. I'm so behind on this stuff and I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of good games coming out now. Things just get in the way. Now I'm finally healthy after 2 years of problems and I'm basically starting to live a normal life again. I'm out most of the time. If I'm home, I'm usually playing bass - making up for the two months I missed, since I couldn't put any prolonged pressure on my upper mid/right stomach area or it would cause a severe attack (apparently I developed a chronic gallbladder inflamation, in addition to gallstones). Hell, I couldn't lay straight on my back for more than few minutes or I'd feel like my chest was going to explode. Same as when I'd eat a handfull of Pops cereal. It was awful. I just had my first BEER in over a year 2 weeks ago. Woohoo. I'm eating normal food, finally. Steaks and hamburgers. I lost exactly 50 pounds, due to an overactive thyroid two years ago and now these gallbladder issues. I've already regained 15 pounds since my surgery almost 2 months ago. 35 more to go!
Value your health and watch your diet, people. And sorry for this personal BS. I'm just happy to be healthy again!
