Mario Lemieux - Top 10 goals (lrtr)

Postby Three Stars on Sun Nov 09, 2008 10:09 pm

(locker room talk related)

This is a long form list, not a quick top 10.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ga02vikBMsI (Part 1)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXGa9LjQoLs (Part 2)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRSRfnaH-SI (Part 3)

The scenes in the room before and after the comeback game are great. I was expecting them to start up with "We've had a lot of losses---YEAH WE'VE HAD A LOT OF LOSSES!".

It's a pretty subjective list, especially number 1.

Holy crap! I just watched that for the first time about an hour ago. It was uploaded on August 11th, but I just noticed it. That's so weird!

I've never seen the locker room footage of his first game back from retirement. Awesome stuff, ***.

Thanks for posting. Great videos. Some never before seen footage, at least for me.

66 was the greatest talent of all time. For those of us that had a chance to watch him in person or cheer him on as a fan, we were truly blessed.

Thank God and Eddie Johnston we tanked to get him :)

His return: "They could write this novel, but no one would buy it, because it's not believable." So true. That was a spine-chilling game.

Good Ol' Vincent Tremblay with his 0-4 record (and GAA of 6.00 and .831 save percentage) down the stretch helped immensely. He was so bad he doesn't even have his own Wikipedia page.

one of the best moments in my childhood.... imprinted in my head, which has a terrible memory, was the time 9:27 on the clock in the second period when he scored.....

When I think back to the comeback, I can't even think of it as real. That quote really says it all. I look back on it the way I think back about a movie, then remind myself that it actually happened.

I enjoyed the highlights until the end. If this was supposed to be a celebration of Mario's Top Ten Goals, why was it necessary to spend the last 20 seconds of highlight video showing Gretzky, Messier and Borque with the Canada Cup? Mario with the Stanley Cup or one (or more/all) of his trophies would have been much more fitting.

The vibe I got at the end was, "Yeah Mario was a great player, but we think Gretzky is better and are going to end the highlights focusing on him and friends instead of Mario."
