And...yet again...I reiterate the fact that after seeing how our organization has handled other aging, once all-stars in the league, I highly doubt Shanahan has an interest in playing for the Pens.

Id take Roberts back for another playoff run. that would be awesome. I wouldnt expect him to be around after this year though.

Id take Shanny. Give him a shot.

We need a deal to get malone and roberts back for Sydor and Eaton. lol

We do not need malone back. He is garbage. He had a lot of heart but couldn't fill the scoresheet without Geno, which is being proven this year. Good for him to get the big contract and he's a great teammate with lots of heart, but is he worth 4.5 million? no thank you.

I retract my statement that he is garbage. That is too harsh. I'm sorry ryan, I didn't mean it. My other contentions stand, however.

I would think that the Devils or Flyers would be front runners, considering that his family is staying in NYC, but something just keeps telling me that he's coming to the Pens.... The Pens could surely use another banger in front of the net, even this coaching staff can see that...

In NHL 09 I traded Dupuis, Fedotenko, Eaton, and Sydor for Carcillo, Pahlson, and Moen.

Grit problem solved.

Shero should do that.

If Dickie Dunn wrote it, it must be true.

Depending on who you believe, the Pens have between $575-800K in cap space left. Even assuming Shanahan would sign for that little, I don't think Shero would put them all the way to the cap as it would limit him on call-ups and such.
