I was hoping staal was staying on malkins wing, and the zigomanis, kennedy, cooke like wasnt going to be split up?

Why change lines when it worked?

My preference is for Letang to be with Orpik, but I did like the Scuderi-Orpik pairing from a couple weeks ago. It creates that solid defense-first pairing that Therrien is aiming for with Gill and Scuderi, but Orpik can actually move (and move quite well) and move the puck. I would feel confident with that pairing going up against the other team's top forwards and playing behind Crosby's line, which is definitely not something I can say about Gill-Scuderi. Sydor and Gogo work well together, Gill and Letang were a money pairing last year.

Therrien's obsession with putting Gill and Scuderi together hurts my brain.

Are these the offical lines or just speculation?

In practice yesterday they were:

Fedotenko-Crosby-Satan
Sykora-Staal-Malkin
Cooke-Zigomanis-Kennedy
Dupuis-Talbot-Godard

I like these better.

Like Dupuis on the fourth line, but I'm thinking this could and maybe should be Fedostinko's last chance to crack the top 6. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm GLAD Sydor is in, he's playing better than Eaton and he's been very solid in the few games he's been allowed to play in.

MT probably wants more balance throughout the lineup facing Detroit. Hopefully Staals added confindence in the last few games can boil over to his own line to generate some offense.

I am kind of disappointed over the breakup of the Tk line, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see them together again if things go sour. Hopefully it wont have to come to that.
