from the Trib:
"Slow is good," Fleury said. "Smooth. Slow. One foot at a time."
Fleury infamously tripped as he stepped from the bench area onto the ice prior to Game 1.
"It was just a good laugh - like, 'What was I doing?'" Fleury said yesterday. "(Max Talbot) just laughed at me. Everybody was skating around and just laughing at me the whole time. It was a good one."

I remember watching that and I was like oh man I hope he didn't hurt that ankle again. And then i was like maybe this is a bad sign for the series...which it kinda was because we lost overall but i dont think it changed the way he played.

I think they were just nervous but really REALLY excited just to be there. Just thinking of him and Max laughing about it makes me smile.

Honestly -- I saw it as an eerie omen for the series. Like it was the Hockey God's cynical illustration of how the series would play out -- the Pens would fall, get back up, but it's Detroit who would have the last laugh.

Yeah, it was hilarious. Just coincidental that it happened then, I don't think it had anything to do with nerves or anything like that.

I agree...then this year the ice crew not removing the "Palin carpet" and the goalie ends up injured...hey things happen! How could the ice crew not roll up the carpet???
