Pens quietly catching fire?

Postby icecats30 on Wed Nov 12, 2008 12:44 am

I was just chalking up this last win on my calender when i noticed.. the pens are on a very quiet 4 game winning streak and have a 7-2-1 record in the last 10 games. we are only 4 points behind the rags now and they have a 3 game lead. so my question is this... are the pens quietly catching fire? getting set to torch the rest of the league?

Think what our record could be if we hadn't blown a couple leads -- to the Crapitals and Rangers. We got one point out of those two games and should have had 4. Plus we gave the Rags 2 points they didn't deserve. I think we are rounding into shape in time to get Whitney back. And we'll be in better shape in time to get Gonchar back. Perhaps a minor move or two at the deadline and we'll be ready for another run through the East.

They don't need any pieces to run over the East. Montreal is gonna be the only real threat yet again. If Price keeps coming along, they are gonna be a good playoff team.

There is no catching fire - they are simply playing to their potential. This team should be winning.

Assuming they are a threat, by definition that means it's possible they could beat us. I think Shero makes a couple of minor moves to shore up some holes. Whether or not it's needed to run the East has yet to be determined. Perhaps not as the teams stand today. But some team could make a trade for Gaborik or another big time player that could shift the balance a bit. I still think Shero will make only minor deals though.

And I could see Montreal overpaying and making a major move at the deadline.

You wouldn't think that would be quiet either.

Well, after tonight I don't think it will be so "quiet" anymore.
