eat it, Pierre Maguire

Postby rosey6629 on Tue Nov 11, 2008 11:17 pm

I wasn't watching the Pens game, being without TSN 2 up here, I was watching OTT vs MTL.

They broke for a highlight from Detroit, when the Wings scored to make it 5-2.

When they came back Pierre Maguire said "thats men playing against boys, it was like that in the Finals, and its like that now."

I wish I could somehow ram this down his throat.. Piece of feces that guy is.

He bares an uncanny resemblance to the character from a classic Turtle movie...

Not only that but the studio guys (especially Eddie O) on Versus looked like they just came from a funeral when they showed them after the game. Classic.

I saw him at Bettis' place last year during the Playoffs. What a small little, arrogant dude he projects, even when he isn't talking. His head is very shiney too - like in a bad way.

I don't really have a problem with what McGuire said. At the time he said it, I think it was pretty much spot on. It's not like he said they stink, they'll never get better, and they should just forfeit the rest of the game or anything. The Pens got down 5-2 and it wasn't by accident. They were getting outplayed. To their credit, they kept working and it eventually paid off.

Since my other post was definitely inappropriate, I'd like to kick him in his head.

The statement still pretty much defines the old cliche, "It ain't over til it's over". And anyone making such a statement still comes off looking pretty stupid when the "boys" storm back and take the game...

I think some people take any sort of criticism toward the Penguins far too seriously/personally. The Pens aren't perfect and the media isn't always going to drool all over them (even when they deserve it).

Not every criticism is a slight.

Yeah I don't really care about that, I just dislike him in general. I usually don't let one comment like that influence my opinion on someone too much.

McGuire seems to be bias towards or against a team every time I have seen him. Since he is a national broadcaster that is supposed to be impartial he fails horribly at his job.

Isn't he the one who claimed Malkin to Russia, following our defeat in the Finals last year?

He's a fartface... yup folks you heard it here first!

Men against boys? I'm sorry Pierre, have you seen our lineup? Sure, the pens were getting trounced, but men against boys?

And his comment about the finals: did he watch them?

I though Pierre and Shero were boys?

I lost it for Pierre when he flipped out when the Hossa trade came out...Pierre 2 3rd line wingers/pick/prospect for an elite player is a deal you make every day if you feel it gets you over the top...

Most of our team are boys.

And most of Detroit are very old men.

Mike Milbury. But it's ok, they both suck.

Even if you are color, you are still supposed to show a level value for both teams.

McGuire has shown favoritism towards Penguins a number of times.

He has, I remember him wetting his shorts last year when Sykora called the OT winner in the finals.

It was Men against boys during some points of yesterday's game. I'm sure if McGuire had a chance, he'd take back his comments and compliment the Penguins' resiliency.
