Scuderi Watch

Postby Penspal on Wed Nov 12, 2008 9:30 am

Anyone have any word on Scuderi?

Hopefully its just a bad bruise, but it seems likely that he will sit out to heal up and Eaton finds his way back into the lineup.

I keep wondering if Biznasty might find some time in a dual forward/defence game.... shades of Ian Moran

Read he was listed as day-to-day. Paper said possible fracture. No definite answer yet though.

I'll be surprised if he didn't break his foot. He couldn't even put any weight on it when it happened, and the fact that he had to leave the game after trying to come back isn't good. More adversity to fight through. They'd now be at the point where one more injury means dipping into the AHL. That shows you the kind of depth they started with, that it'd take four injuries to a defenseman to necessitate playing an AHL guy in the NHL.

Yeah, he was dead sideways when he got hit with a rocket shot, and it hit him right on the ankle joint. So many little items to break in there.......

I know the team stepped up and played well in his absence last night, but I hope he's not out too long. He's a big part of the team right now and the defense is thin enough.

If Scuderi is out, they better call up Joey Mormina. I want to see him and Gill paired up. 6'7 & 6'6 brick walls.

didn't he get demoted to the Over 40 Beer league last time he tried to play D?

But in all seriousness, yes he could fill in for a game or so until they get a call up in place. I would be willing to bet we would see a minor trade take place for some borderline journeyman D instead of a long term call up, you know players like Nas,Kiwi and etc.

Not to write off Scuderi at all as I think we may see him back in less time than most think. what is the latest ETA on Whitney?

I could see Biz Nasty playing some defense if needed, it might mean the other 5 guys play more with Biz nasty taking an every other shift kind of deal

That would be sweet if there was a scuderi watch made by rolex. I don't know what it would be, but it would be sweet. I'd get it

If Scud's goes down, you gotta figure Danny Richmond gets the call-up.

It figures you would say this. The first time I read the title I thought it was "Scuderi's Watch."

Defenseman Rob Scuderi left Tuesday's game against Detroit with an undisclosed injury after blocking a shot in the first period. He returned in the first period but didn't play after the first intermission. He is listed as day-to-day.

"It's good news," Therrien said. "It could have been a lot worse. He'll skate tomorrow morning. We'll see how he feels."

That is sounds much more like a bruise than a break...... good news it seems.
