You may not understand the point, but I look at it as a way that some fans find an extra way to savor the rivalry. We were domiated by the Flyers for so long that some fans enjoy finally being able to gloat.

At least they're posting them for other Pens' fans enjoyment, rather than trolling and bringing arguments back over here (at least, I hope that's all they're doing).

Some posters don't venture over to other boards, but still enjoy getting a glimpse at the opposing fans' feedback.

Some, like yourself, couldn't care less.

Different strokes, and all...

Gloating is over-rated IMO. If something I say is proven true (which is rare :P ), I don't need to pat myself on the back or have others do it for me. Knowing I was right is good enough. Different strokes indeed. :D

If people get enjoyment out of reading that stuff, good for them. I still don't get it, but whatever floats your boat.

[mod soapbox] I echo your hopes about where it hopefully ends; if a board member got caught trolling on another board, that person would most likely have trouble with his or her LGP login shortly thereafter, especially if it brought trouble back here.[/mod soapbox]

I'd like to believe no one here would make a bad decision like that, but I've been around too long to be that naive.

It's all a matter of looking at it from different perspectives.

Btw, did you see the edit I added to my first post, about kicksave?

I like to think I don't gloat to much. Plus its much more satisfying to throw my opinion into the face of someone who disagrees with me before the opinions are tested then go silent when i'm proven right. Plus like you said, gloating comes back to bite you. It would be laughable for me of all people to say that I take the high road, but in some respects I like to think I do.

He doesn't disagree though. Plus he doesn't count. Only one member of the family matters. Well of the immediate blood relatives anyway. Candace matters for sure.

How awesome was Crosby tonight?

Don't look now, but he's on pace for 31 goals.

That doesn't count. The pace from 2 games ago is the real pace.

Another fantastic game. I'm so glad I sprung for Center Ice this year.

Little worrisome to give up another big lead but all that matters in the end is two points. How many times can this team come from behind in the 3rd? Unreal.

I texted my brother at the end of regulation a simple, "Whew."

I'm happy with the outcome, it's a win and it's a win against the Flyers. Always sucks when they give up a big lead like this but such is the Penguins in the second period.

I don't understand why Sydor was scratched again. Whatever, Planet Therrien.

Hartnell's driving the team back to Philly!

I don't know if anyone mentioned it, but Eaton looked back to form tonight. Lots of blocked shots.

It's late, but I just want to say that only Scott Hartnell would botch a potential game-tying SO attempt to try to maim the goaltender. What a tool.

:D

He's getting better and better. Seems (hopefully) he was just a slow starter (by his standards) this year.

Really looked good last night, skating and determination wise. Could've had two more goals had his aim been higher.

I'm happy S Gagne is back this year, and was far away from the play-offs last year. Pains me to write this, but Mike Richards is a fine defensive player. Not nearly the scoring threat of a Zetterberg, but sneaky puck takeaway skills. Plus, with Sid, he knows his game.

Watching the pens with fullblown skills on display; they can take your breath away. They just need to know when to kill the opponent and when to rein in their high-wire act for just cheap/dirty goals. Biron prepared to give them up. :)

Sid, on one shift, I think he flew. Evgeni just tries to go through players~ that's painful Geno.

I don't know what Therrien will do, but I hope Flower starts saturday.

richards is a ninny.

but yes, he is a good player. it's still not certain if he's worth that contract, but he's solid. and a ninny.

agreed about gagne. it's a shame him and carter associate themselves with such scum. i really like both of their games. and they don't engage in the cheap, flyers stuff.

If their has been any Flyers player I have ever respected, no question about it, it's Simon Gagne. He's a fantastic hockey player and he showed that last night. You're exactly right, he just does his job, no talking or anything. Just simply plays hockey.

As for Mike Richards, I don't give a rat's rear end about him. He's a piece of crap.

What is this 3 point win that Steigy and others have talked about? I've been hearing that since the shootout started.

You get 2 points for a win (regulation/OT/shootout), the losing team gets 1 point for a loss in OT/shootout...

Am I missing something?

I guess it's a three point win when you're playing within the division or within the conference. You gain two points and the other team loses one potential point. For example, when you're talking about magic numbers, such a win would knock three of the magic number.
