11 of 16 isn't that surprising when there have been 8 OT games, which by definition have to be one-goal games... Two years ago, there were 23 OT games after this point in the season, and only four before that, for 27 overall. Add 15 other 1-goal games, that's 42 out of 82. Last season had 15 OT games, with only 2 by this point in the season, and 19 other 1 goal games - for 34. In games 1-16, that's 2 OT games and 7 other one goal games, for 9 of 16.
In the end, all of that is useless - without calculating the record in those one goal games. This far last year, Pens were 3-4 in regulation one-goal games, and 1-1 in the OT (both SO). Two seasons ago, they were 2-2 in non-OT one goal games, and 2-2 in OT games (all OT, no SO). This season, they are 6-2 in OT games, and 1-2 in non-OT one goal games. So in those 11 one goal games, they are 7-2-1-1, compared to 4-4-1 last year and 4-2-0-2 two years ago. Which would you rather have? Of course you'd take the 7-2-1-1 in those 11 games.
