Hartnell

Was that a complete cheap shot at Danny in his OT Shootout attempt or what? I am all for this guy getting his due next game.

When I didn't see much of him in Nashville, I was under the impression that he had the makings of a power forward ala Stevens from the Cup teams. Now that I see him half a dozen times a season, he seems to more have the makings of Ogre from Revenge of the Nerds. I care not for him.

What's better is that Molinari calls him, "Hartnett" in the PG today.

Hartnell wasn't the only reason San Jose beat Nashville in the first round two years in a row, but his tendency to take stupid, game-changing, penalties certainly didn't help. He was an undisciplined nutbag then and he's only gotten worse.

Hey I know I tried to injure you, but it's not like it seems.... I was just following through my complete loss of the puck at your head/neck area with my body.

yes. the animated gif of my dreams.

seriously, the label "clown" has never been so appropriate. he's just absurd. there's no tact to his game. all he does is hit people late and act incredulous when he gets called on it. at least the real pests of the league get away with it more often than not. he makes zero effort to be discrete.

The flyers broadcasting crew didnt even bother defending his charge on sykora is last nights game. And that crew defends most, if not all actions of flyers.

it was funny. it was one of those jackson/jones/coatsey moments when you know they're frothing at the mouth to blast the refs. then they see the replay and all pause for a few seconds saying nothing while they realize it was the right call.

of course after that, the rest of the night, any penguin who checked a flyer was "taking a run at them".

I've gotta give Sabu a point for that textbook single-leg takedown on Hartnell.

There was a lot of talk on this board towards the end of the 2006-2007 season about the Penguins needing him. Him and Timmonen both as I recall.

I am glad Philly pulled that preemptive trade before they became UFAs.

I'm a guy that loves an agitator type hockey player. Loved Ruutu, like Avery, like Cooke, but I absolutely hate Hartnett. He is one unstable jack---.

I really hope The Hand of God gets ahold of him next game.

Don't you know that every player becomes a cheapshoitting jerk once they put on a Flyer's uniform? I think it's something in the air in Philly.

I worked in philly during october - and of course there was some back & forth with a few of my friends there who are Flyers fans. One of them was giving me the usual Sid stuff - so I fired back with "well, at least we don't have a clown on our team".

He replied with "who?". I said "Hartnell".

Then he paused, and then laughed - and said "you know you're right - he does look like a ***ing Clown"

Yeah, Hartnell initiated the contact and then Sabu finished it with the takedown. When Hartnell hits the ice, you can see him with a 'WTF' look. Classic!!!!

it looked to me like he knew he was going down, tried to grab the goal post, and ended up with sabu's head instead. hence the apology.

he is still an effin' clown though. and a total loser..
