Staal is back

Postby purelebo84 on Sat Nov 15, 2008 11:06 pm

Man he's playing well right now.

Looks like 2006-2007 all over again. He's just been a dominant force with TK and Cooke.

Agreed totally.

No longer do I have any interest in trading him, even for Gaborik.

But I thought Staal was a "wasted pick" as a third line center?

Sigh. I guess I'm going to have to move over to make room on the Staal bandwagon.

As I see it, the coaches have been concentrating on making sure the top two lines were clicking -- and rightly so. For the first time since his rookie year, Staal seems to have a more consistent line and more consistent role. It's probably been tough for him to find an offensive rhythm until now. Let's hope MT doesn't mess with a good thing. Malkin's line and Staal's line seem to be playing well lately. And it's hard to knock Crosby's line since he has a bunch of points and Satan leads the team in goals. It's a pretty good thing when the third line can put some offensive pressure on the opposition. Makes it tough to match lines.

Rossi was on the X on Thursday with Tim Benz, and he thinks Staal will be signed to an extension by the end of the calendar year.

" Hey! Pro-Jordan Staal talk? Watch yourself people. You're opening yourself up to vicious attacks from others on this board. Optimism and reality will not be tolerated!

After all, Staal only had that one good game in Detroit. Right? And now you're overreac... wait ...he scored a few tonight too? What's that? He's had 7 goals during the last six games? No! You lie. He sucks! People have been adamant about this.

You can't concede people. You can't! Just ignore his production. It's not hard. Come on. Surely you can misconstrue his current play and pass it off as a few lucky bounces. I mean ...two of those 7 goals were empty netters. He still sucks darn it! He still sucks! He still sucks , " He said, as he cried in the corner.

He's probably worth somewhere in the 4 Million range... But if his agent has a brain, they'll wait to resign.

Jordan Staal game improvement checklist:

As of the last couple games...
Stop getting bumped off the puck when someone even looks at me: Check
Stop getting ridden into the boards like a b***h: Check
Stop turning over the puck tlike that was my job: Check
Shoot: Check
Get said shot somewhere NEAR the net: Check
Do this for more than a few games: ??????????????????

I like that we didn't even get out of the first page before someone already threw a huge amount of money at him.

It's a sign, just got the NHL catalog with the staal family photo. :)

Jordan is even becomming better at passing the puck too. I like Staal's entire line with Kennedy and Cooke.
