The American Hockey League announced today that Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins center Jeff Taffe has been named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 28, 2008. In three games, Taffe recorded two goals and seven assists for nine points as the Penguins went 3-0-0-0 on the week.

Clearly Taffe is the future on the big team. This opens them up to trade away Crosby for that scoring winger to play alongside Taffe.
