I'd say so. I hope they don't get much ice time whenever we're protecting a lead.

They've had some good shifts, cycled a bit. Recchi just runs the puck over so much.
Anyone else notice...every time we score a goal the Thorburn, Roy, Staal line gets put out there to take the faceoff at center ice? Thats pretty cool, keep the pressure and energy up. How many times did we score a goal last year only to be scored on within seconds?
Staal LeClair and Recchi would be awesome!!!

Guys think about it, this team is on the cusp of becoming something special, the new owner knows that. If our politico's don't keep this tem here by getting an arena deal done, they are making a major mistake. We're not talking 5 years of major sports free advertising etc. likely 10 for sure.

Eaton has been good, as well. Very quiet, but very solid in front of the net for Fleury.

I think Malone's problem when he plays center is he has to think too much. As a wing he just needs to get open to score and cover his boards on the back check. Center is a more difficult position. He's an OK center on a bad team but a bad center on an OK team. I wouldn't mind seeing Staal get some time between Malone and Recchi if Malkin is going to be out longer than another 2 weeks.

These guys finally get the PK, it's not just about position, it's about position and pressure. Past few years Pens teams were terrified with being in position.

He's been a PK animal tonight. How many passes has he gotten a stick on during a PK?

Was that Gonchar or Letang who passed instead of shooting? If it was Letang he could have had his 1st career goal there.

Only reason I say that was the first pp unit was coming back on, largely the first line and the play your talking about was actually the 2nd pp unit going off with Leclair etc..

Gonchar has been staying on with both units on the power play for most of the game.

I may be wrong, but that's what I thought I saw out there. The first line/first pp unit was already out when the penalty was called I thought. I saw Leclair when that went down and assumed the second unit was out. Which would be Letang, not Gonchar. Someone will tivo it and make a fool out of me I'm sure.

He is not an NHL center. That's not negative is it?
