I suppose you could say the game should have never gone to OT, but with the young team they have, I think this was a great win. They kept battling and eventually got rewarded. Good on all of 'em. :D

Gonchar's nicknames: Sarge, The Gonch, The Potter, Double-Nickel, The Surgeon.

And if he plays badly, Goncharred.

This will help the team alot, with the growing pains. Always have to respect your opponent, they didn't get here any easier than you. Every night is a new night and you have to work. Great effort, great team rebound, a coaches dream...

Well good night. Now that Elvis is gone, I'll call it a night as well.

Wish tomorrow was Saturday.

Let's be honest, if I would have told you the Pens would be 3-3 after 6 games, how many of you would have honestly believed it? Very good start by the Pens.

Looking at the schedule this is the first game we should have won and even then considering the problems we have had against the Isles in recent time even that's not a gimme game.

BTW, if I drink the entire game the Pens win. I ran out of beer after Malkin scored last night, I took no chances and got a 12 pack for the game tonight :D

Saturday is just another game, have to focus on each one and realize that sometimes you will not perform. Until the playoffs start, it's all about today and tomorrow. (this is not an endorsement to say the Pens will make the playoffs, it's about the grind of the season)

Oh yeah that should be a great game! I am terrified of Thibault starts however and I think he will get one.

And those people who talked about Whitney going to WBS must be feeling bad now. The kid sucks up minutes. 28 and change tonight, and in every area. He's got 26:19 on the year, and he's 13th in the league (before tonight). Same area as Pitkanen, Wideman and Phaneuf, but Whit's got much more short-handed minutes than them. He's just a stud.

If the team can stay near .500 till around December, they'll make the playoffs. The team is just soo young to compete all year but if they can get through the growing pains and be within striking distance, I like their chances.
