Uh, are the refs watching the game? Blake and Gonchar have just gotten away with murder right in front of them.

Have you ever noticed how infrequently Sid loses a one-on-one battle for the puck? At 19? Crikey, when he is in his mid-20s his opponents will only give it a cursory effort. Why waste the energy?

Well, at least they're consistent.

Jordan Staal is throwing body checks. I like it, I love it, I want to see more of it.

Yeah that got a big laugh on this side. Reminded me of that mid-ice run in his debut vs. NJ. He knows what to do with that shoulder in a collision.
Turns out that was Rob Blake. Impressive.

Ahahaha @ the replay of the Blake-Malkin hit.
Starting to feel like a shoot-out night. Which begs the question, who is our third shooter in a shoot-out scenario? Ekman?

Staal has converted a penalty shot and his first goal was pretty much a breakaway. I don't know if I'd pick him, but it would cross my mind should the game get to that point.

Welch has been stout all night. Does this kid get to stay up for good now or what?

It looks like they'll lose the puck but somehow they manage control. Crosby and Malkin pulled off some weird moves there =)

Did you just use "stout" in a sentence?

Jagr just scored in OT for the Rangers. He's got 20 points now.

Can't disagree with you there, he was silky smooth in both cases.

I use it in sentences all the time! As in, "Yes, barkeep, I will have another stout. *hic*"

The
NHL shift chart shows that Moore's penalty came approximately in the 5th minute of the second period. At the time of this post, the chart shows he's had a total of 6 shifts since and most have been very short.
By comparison, Talbot has had 8 shifts including being on the failed PK on the Moore penalty.
