Just undisciplined play all around.

Not looking for excuses here or anything. But given the matchup tonight and the relative youth on this Pens roster, I think they're doing a decent job. They don't look intimidated at all. They need to clean it up a little bit, but with young teams like this, you're going to make mistakes and get sloppy from time to time against good teams like this.

I'd like to see them start pressing a little bit more on offense and just start getting the puck on net.

if that was a goal, that def would have been goaltender interference.

Net, are you talking about when he went down to one knee with his stick on the ice?

He's been one of the best PKers.

Hard to do much with 8:40 of ice time so far, the majority on the PK.

I have noticed him a lot on the PK, picking pockets and making nice clears. But nowhere on the offensive end.

Mistakes are one thing, and they're going to make them against most teams, and especially good teams like Anaheim. Getting beat to every puck in your end is something different, though. That's just getting outworked.

I thought I saw him drop down to both. That's great if you block the pass, but if it gets through, he's completely out of the play.

Is it just me, or are the Pens' D the only ones that dump the puck back in when they get it at the point instead of just throwing it on net? Anaheim's D seem to fire it to the net whenever they get it.

Staal tried to skate through him.

Exactly, the guy was entitled to the ice he stood in.

So are they undisciplined or getting outworked? Each one seems to imply different things.

Maybe I'm just tempering my expectations more than others. I'm just seeing an Anaheim team that is quicker, a little more crisp, and simply has more talent. I think they're doing a fair job hanging with this team.

Now that should have been an interference call on O'Donnell. Ouellet was after that puck and O'Donnell shouldered him out of the way.

So last couple of forward lines I've seen are:
Malkin-Crosby-Thorburn
Staal-Recchi-Ruutu
Ekman-Talbot-Ouellet

now Army is back with 87 and 71

Therrien loves to mix em up.

The way they got outworked in the second period indicated laziness, which is a form of undisciplined play. I'm not saying they should be outworking this team, but 3 minute stretches where they can't clear the puck are extreme.

Getting outworked a bit here, I think they look a bit tired, but I think they have gotten nothing in the way of even one call. Not saying it should be even, but it would be nice to get 1 full 2 minute pp without a period or something coming in between.
