we really need to learn how to play 4 on 4. Seems like we rush things, we don't get the puck deep when we don't have a play, and we don't skate without the puck to open things up.

At this moment....everyone on this team is trying to do "that play" In our system you have to play your role and stop flipping lines...kills the chemistry tree.

People Question Whitney's heart I question his hockey smarts or plain simple his brains

what a brilliant play by Whitney...why would he shoot that? He just made two really good plays with his patience on the same shift, then he goes and does that?
There was nobody going to the net at all, nobody even pressuring him, he could have waited, moved the puck, anything...why was he shooting that?

I dunno but Whitney shouldn't have taken a bad angle shot 4 on 4 with a D man right in front of him and no Pens players in front of the net.

WHITNEY IS THE DUMBEST PLAYER ON THE ICE !
You dont ever shoot that shot, 3 guys in deep, no traffic at the net, Sidney open, Nils open,

Yes, and there's no way Melichar can let Lecavalier get behind him. Horrible play by both.

I don't think it's unfair to say Welch cost this team a point.

the only reason we got a point was because of that flurry at the end of the 2nd...got outplayed for the majority of the game

sometimes I think he is....what a moronic decision...I was just about to make a post about how Whitney actually used patience on that shift, TWICE....but alas he goes and ruins it for me.
Thanks again Ryan...even a pee wee player woudln't have made that play.

He's no more responsible than Melichar and Whitney.

No doubt but the play was so broken down that everybody knew Whitney was going to shoot. Yes Melichar should have been ready for the counter attack but you have to give Tampa a little credit for turning the puck out so quickly.

Had melichar not been so STUPID earlier in the game and gave the puck over that resulted in their one goal, then we would have won!
EVEN MORE STUPID!

To be fair to Whitney, no one else on the ice was moving at all.

too go along with NIN here i may be mistaken but Whitney had to hesitate to take that shot because a Pens player was in his way... i believe it was crosby... that leaves two players back... and still atleast to lightning as screens with a whitney slapper... to me thats a good shot to take... you never know...
also st. louis... made a lucky pass by whipping around... again... the puck made it through both defenders sticks... to vinny... i actually thought one should have taken the risk of getting the puck... prob melichar... and i think its sid who was the other... maybe it was whit already... but that player has to stride back just incase...
like i said i could be all wrong anyways!
