That works out well. I figure that by 2040 I'm likely to be demented, so even if they leave town, I probably will not realize it.

Indeed what a difference a year makes. I can't wait to go into this season just worrying out the on ice product and not "will they be here next year".

This is the first time I'll feel this way since 2001.

Lol I'l be 59 and my heart wont make it to see the new arena because the stress of the negotiations will kill me for sure. Maybe by that time Sid will own the team? I agree this season will be so much more enjoyable knowing that we have another 33 years. i am glad that the only worry i have is how to get Ice Bowl Tickets. can you imagine how much the new building would cost? Mellon arena cost 22 mil to build in 1957. the 09 version will run 325 mill wich is almost 15 times mellon..... Inflation is a b***h...

Here is a scary thought....me doing math.

What do you think the price will be in 2037 when they finally sign the next new deal?
I got two figures using 22mil in '57 and 325mil in '07: $525 million or $1.6 billion....haha...glad I'm not still in school!

Just to bring back old memories:

I heard Gov Rendell didn't sign his name to the lease, thus making in null and void. I got that from an inside source. He wants the team to move.

I heard the Pens are still going to KC. All the media guys said it so it must be true. There still is a conspiracy to screw the Pens. This ruse about an arena deal is designed to make the final exit infinitely more painful... :roll:
