You mean our 40 goal scorer who couldn't be bothered to take a shot on net all night?

I would give more consideration to the 40 goal season and the 23 goals and 19 assists in 38 career playoff games, over the one bad game yesterday, when deciding on whether or not to put Jake on the 1st PP unit.

Are the Penguins floating and coasting on power play kills?

A key element of their penalty kill was missing.

Did notice the only power play they scored was without our Norris defenseman on the ice.

I doubt there's another 40-goal guy in the league who does not play on his team's top PP unit. Pretty remarkable.
The Pens coaches must be some kind of special geniuses that we couldn't possibly understand.

100% agree with OP on this one. This is simply favoritism based on seniority and/or past performance over a much more sensible meritocratic approach. This is the playoffs, and it's all about the "what have you done for me lately"? 72 has done a nice job in his role on that checking 3rd line, but has not been much of a threat to score for awhile. It's way past time to put Jake on the first unit.

Expect anything different? The PP has been better with Schultz leading it, but they wont remove Letang either.

I don't know that this is true. I've seen Letang deployed with the 2nd unit most times. No?

We are not talking about penalty kills. We are talking about the Penguins killing their power plays.

The top unit could only get point shots off. there was very little shots from the slot. Islanders did a good job at forcing us to take low percentage shots. Phil Sid and Geno couldn't generate from down low. Jake should be on the top unit. Trade Phil for a guy who has a track record of scoring 5 on 5.

The Pens made the islander pk look out of this world.

Why? No movement.

The best pens pp was in game four. The very last one they had as a matter of fact.

They played with urgency instead of sight seeing. Good chances ensued.

The PP short coming was more from lack of movement than personnel.

If the personnel wont move the puck then personnel needs changed.

No matter...if the pp wants to be flat footed the lack of production is the result.
