Karlsson and Letang with some head scratching decisions.Rakell a non entity.
Good to see Geno get the 2 PP Goals.The 2nd one was quite a play.
Clearly the fact that they are down to 5 D with Graves out has this unit out of sorts.Coaches can't handle it.
Sully deciding to alter that 4th Line had its effect.Puljujarvi has barely been out there at all.No reason to go with that thinking.

0 shots for Rakell. The guy only shows up if he plays with Sid. KD really needs to think about moving him in the off season. Problem is they will most likely have to take back a similar contract or player that needs a change of scenery. 4 more years at $5mill AAV is tough to move, especially coming off a horrible season.

That's why it's much easier to just make a coaching change instead of selling low on players. But that's a discussion for another day and thread

A Win against a terrible CBJ Team that had so many open gets and missed.Their Goalie was excellent and kept them in it.
Geno getting the 2 PP Goals had to feel good for him.He played a strong game.
DOC with the winning goal well earned.Piays with effort and intensity every night.
Rakell gave this team zero tonight.Eller and DOC have more Goals than he does.
Ned with another game where he made the difference.Made every tough save and looked composed all game.

The move by Sully to take Gruden out for Carter and barely play Puljujarvi shows the mindset of this Coach.He won't change his thinking in regards to the Younger Players and giving them the time to develop.He likely thinks that move won him this Ho-Hum game against a lousy CBJ Team.

And putting Carter back in the lineup means Puljujarvi has to play on his off wing. One game after he played his best game of the season.

I cant even describe with words anymore how much I hate his sorry coaching ass.. he is the alone reason I dont want Pens to make playoffs,to maybe see him gone finally somehow! I just cant stand that guy anymore.. Puljujarvi 9min of play after great games, Puusty 9min.. bollocks

I don’t have any problems with Jeff Carter this year. He’s been fine. I have a problem with the idea of playing a 39 year old pending UFA after the trade deadline when the team has been essentially eliminated for weeks if not months instead of paying players who either have earned a reward from a good WBS season, deserve a call up on outright merit or to see if some players have the physicality to even play in the NHL to make plans for next year.

Carter has been the absolute least of the problems with this team but it makes no sense to play him. There should had been a discussion about him just going home for the rest of the year because he would be a healthy scratch and not resigned. If he still wanted to play then it should had been on him to find a team that would trade for him for 50% retained for essentially nothing.

Dubas completely whiffed on the 4th line. If we had just not signed Nieto and Acciari and told Carter in July he wasn’t in the plans and if he wanted to play find a trade we would had just burned a roster spot instead of 3 due to Cap restraints and could had seen Zohorna-Poulin-Puustinen on the 4th line.
