Sign-Up Thread for future games. (If you wanna mod)
If you are a mod please lay out all the rules to your game in the first post of the sign-up and game-play thread. It makes things very clear for everyone.
If you plan on modding and are new to it click here and read
I think this would be a wise thing to do. You can discuss ideas for future games and sign-up to run future games as well.
Edit: Since ideas are also being discussed either bold or color your name in your post if you're getting in line to mod.
Oh and if you wanna call your theme now, go ahead I'll put it next to your name.
Waiting Line To Run New Games
1. TWC/WF - Lost wars
2. Corvidae - Slug Wars IV: A New Hope
3. Senka/Azkar - Prison Warz/Jail Warz
4. Beerman
5. Mac5155
6. Kicksave
7. Redwill - No specific theme at this time
8. Jaysmiter - FWII
9. Canaan

Good call Pavel.
This way people will also know when there may be games coming up and such.
Might be a good candidate for a Sticky, btw.

ok, so my ideas of time constraints are this.
time's are up for discussion but my idea is this
if a day's end write up happens like say... 3 AM - noon, then PMs must be in by 8 PM. if write up happens from 12-4, then PMs must be in by midnight. after 4PM - 3AM, deadline is 10:00 the next day.
the time will always be noted in the writeup.
i say 3 AM because if i am modding, i am usually up at that time

There is no reason that an RP pm should take more than 6 hours. I would like to run a very strict game.

Re: Sign-Up Thread for future games. (If you wanna mod)
same here. that's why i was giving them 6-8 hours after each write up.. i guess in reality we could do it easy and just say 6 hours from days end but if a day write up is at 10 PM then IDK.jaysmiter wrote:There is no reason that an RP pm should take more than 6 hours. Then have a 6 hour night. The reality of the situation is a RPer can use the time constraints as a strategy and not turn in their PM until the deadline. Just because people, mods or not are impatient doesn't mean they should try and push the game along when the time limits were set at the beginning. There are circumstances like in the end game and what not, but until then it's just not a good way to run a game.jaysmiter wrote:There is no reason that an RP pm should take more than 6 hours. but it's pretty much hindering me from playing this game... its a double edged sword.Pavel Bure wrote:Then have a 6 hour night. Again, you knew the rules before it started. Heck I wasn't able to post anything at all until very late in todays game day. In a cliche, "Thems the breaks."mac5155 wrote:

Re: Sign-Up Thread for future games. (If you wanna mod)
It's hard to balance it so everyone is happy. 12 hours is fine IMO, but I would even be happy with somewhat shorter... problem is, night always throws a monkey wrench in your plans... even if you are up late (as expected from a college student), a lot of the people here already are working 9-5 jobs and many are married and/or have kids...

I didn't think anyone would be around for a 2:30 AM writeup so I just pushed it to 9:00AM (basically the beginning of the real day for everyone).mac5155 wrote:but the write up was when today....... 2:30?the wicked child wrote:It's hard to balance it so everyone is happy. 12 hours is fine IMO, but I would even be happy with somewhat shorter... problem is, night always throws a monkey wrench in your plans... even if you are up late (as expected from a college student), a lot of the people here already are working 9-5 jobs and many are married and/or have kids...

well yeah i mean i understand that but an RP should look between 2:30 and now. see that it's night and send a PM.. it takes 3 minutes if even.Corvidae wrote:I didn't think anyone would be around for a 2:30 AM writeup so I just pushed it to 9:00AM (basically the beginning of the real day for everyone).mac5155 wrote:but the write up was when today....... 2:30?the wicked child wrote:It's hard to balance it so everyone is happy. 12 hours is fine IMO, but I would even be happy with somewhat shorter... problem is, night always throws a monkey wrench in your plans... even if you are up late (as expected from a college student), a lot of the people here already are working 9-5 jobs and many are married and/or have kids...

and as far as strategy.. i just dont get it. no one knows when you're on if your status is hidden. as long as you dont post on the board, it's like you've never been on.Corvidae wrote:Can't argue with that.mac5155 wrote:well yeah i mean i understand that but an RP should look between 2:30 and now. see that it's night and send a PM.. it takes 3 minutes if even.

Like I said if you really feel it's that big of an issue make the nights 6 hours. Days can still be a different length.

I'm not talking about this game...I'm talking about the game I want to mod.Pavel Bure wrote:Like I said if you really feel it's that big of an issue make the nights 6 hours. Days can still be a different length.
I hate long nights, but I knew what I was getting into, though.

I'd be willing to help mod (not be main) but a helper anytime.
