Re: NHL GM Wars Game Thread
i liked this game, but why does cup keeper always get to be red? lol.
I wouldn't mind seeing this format played using a current player from each team, then the next game using any former player from that team.

I don't know about cupkeeper, but I hated being red when I was a few games ago.npv708 wrote:i liked this game, but why does cup keeper always get to be red? lol.

I always wanted to be red, and then I got it two games in a row, and absolutely hated it.
Too hard to keep up with all the PMs and strategy.

Will there be a wrap-up thread? I like to see the roles and night actions in summary form. If you don't have the time, then OK.

So far vig is my least favorite role. It's really best to wait it out for a few days, but then you start worrying about getting killed off. Or about shooting the wrong person. Being red is fun.the wicked child wrote:I would love to be the vig someetime. Alas I am always blue... Sometimes bandwagon blue.

I don't mind being red but its to the point where I'm getting tired of it.
I'd like to see things as a green RP. I think that could be a lot of fun.

At this point, that would probably be bad for the village. How are you not killed off the first day every game?cup keeper wrote:I don't mind being red but its to the point where I'm getting tired of it.

Re: NHL GM Wars Game Thread
It certainly makes for a different game. It's such a powerful role that you want to play almost noobish so you don't draw a lot of attention on yourself, while using your ability when possible - especially when you can only kill every other night.the wicked child wrote:I would love to be the vig someetime. It's sounds funny to say, but my game strategies were pretty accurate this time around. When I started the bandwagon on THG, I figured at least one bad guy would be in quick so my plan was to kill the first 2 in - both MikeEnIke and sdm5055 turned out to be bad. By the time we hit night 3, and I could kill again, I basically had a coin-toss between npv708 and Malkamaniac. I ended up going with npv because I thought Malks play on the MWB votes was too blatant for him to be bad (I was wrong).
I wish I paid more attention to the WC converstaions, but it didn't matter because the baddies got beat worse than the Islanders when they face the Pens

See I liked the power to kill aspect when I was red.
I did not like the deception part very much though.

BTW, right before the one writeup, when I said something on pg 27 stuck out to me, that is where I voted for cupkeeper the first time.
I didn't know he was a baddie back them and researched him that night.
I thought I may get killed, so I was just trying to point to that page and hope someone picked that up when it was revealed I was the seer if I died.
I figured canaan or someone would see that since he picks up on the slightest in this game.

Yeah, the comments I figured would be brushed off while I was still alive.canaan wrote:i wasnt at all convinced you were a good guy, nan...so i kind of brushed your comments off. definitely missed it.
I'm saying I left that just in case I died that night and was revealed that I was the seer.
I'm sure then people would have went back and looked, and hopefully they put two and two together.
At that time, I didn't want to come out as the seer. But I also didn't want to not say anything at all that I had found a bad guy that night and end up dying and not getting the info out there.

Re: NHL GM Wars Game Thread
with the way the game transpired (only WC bad guys being left) it made it easy for us and it was a great time for you to come out...it narrowed the field that much more and you just sniped baddies. solid stuff.newarenanow wrote:Yeah, the comments I figured would be brushed off while I was still alive.canaan wrote:i wasnt at all convinced you were a good guy, nan...so i kind of brushed your comments off. definitely missed it.

Yeah, having it be WC only that was left made it a hell of a lot easier.canaan wrote:with the way the game transpired (only WC bad guys being left) it made it easy for us and it was a great time for you to come out...it narrowed the field that much more and you just sniped baddies. solid stuff.
And after I thought about it, coming out with that info at the time was a win win. It narrowed it down to 3 or 4 individuals and there were enough villagers that you could just work down the list and still win.
To make it more fair in the future, if this format is used, I'd allow one recruit for the baddies, that way it can be anywhere.
