That kind of highlight reel in just his first season in the NHL?

I'm not going to go out and say that he'll break 99's records, but he may just have more highlight reel footage than anyone else over the course of a career.

That was almost 5 minutes of footage, and the season isn't over yet!

Multiply that by 12-15 years and you have over an hour of straight footage!

And that Ovechkin kid is pretty good. At the start of the Yahoo fantasy hockey league season, he wasn't in there. Any players added are alwasy subject to waiver priority, so when It was my turn to decide what position I wanted tp draft, I chose last, knowing I would end up getting first dibs.

This year's group of rookies will long be remembered. Just saw
this NHL awards gala will be in vancouver 6/22. Hopefully
Alexander Ovechkin will make all efforts to be there in person if (when) the winner.
Sidney Crosby should not be disappointed if / when coming in
2nd to AO. Besides Sid will be the pens rookie/MVP/ points leader
and few of those other last game awards.


NHL should go back to having all-star based on east / west so
that hockey fans can see Sid & AO on the same team...

AO is great... but he is a one trick pony. He really is only interested in scoring goals. Near the end of games (last 5 minutes) he will hit and as he is big, they look good... but is only has one thing on his mind.

He OFTEN starts to celebrate goals that haven't scored yet. a lot of the time the goalie makes the save while AO's arms are halfway up in the air. I am extremely surprised that no media people ever mention this.

I'm in such a bad space. My favorite player isn't on my most favorite team right now. I think this is the first time in my life I've been in this position. I can take solace in the fact that we do have Crosby tho' & will have Malkin, who some have already said is as good if not better than Ovechkin. My next question; is that possible? As a Penguins fan, I'll sure be happy if he's even as good.
