I was surprised to get killed by the Nexus myself. I am usually used as a late game lynch.Troy Loney wrote:well...i got killed by the nexus...not really sure why i'd get killed by the nexus.

Kinda hard to do. All you can really do is modkill people who aren't participating, but this ultimately affects the balance of the game as well since the # of bad guys is usually based on how many players there are.Malkamaniac wrote:There really has to be a way to get people who don't participate to either play or not sign up.
You'd like to think people who knowingly can't/aren't willing to play would just not sign up... but it doesn't work that way.

I think beerman and I did a decent job in getting people to participate in our Star Wars wars game.the wicked child wrote:Kinda hard to do. We pretty much shortened the nights, so people aren't waiting around and getting disinterested, so it kept the flow going. Plus, after every someone posted, we did a post count and listed the voters and had a list of the non voters at real time. I don't know if it was coincidence or not, but when people saw their names under the "non voters" list and their names were being mentioned, they magically came on and voted. Seemed to keep the participation up.
To me, the key is to keep the game moving, a lot of people have short attention spans, and also keep the vote count and the people who voted in the spot light real time.

I agree. The problem is that you can't really force people to vote or send in their PMs.newarenanow wrote:To me, the key is to keep the game moving, a lot of people have short attention spans, and also keep the vote count and the people who voted in the spot light real time.

That is why we did shorter night (like 4 hrs) the entire game, if people didn't get thieir PMs in, they didn't get to use their power that night. And we got PMs in rather quickly.the wicked child wrote:I agree. As for the vote, I agree, you can't force them. But it just seemed like when their name was in the spotlight and not forgotten, they tended to vote.
