Cellar or wins?

We should try to make a run, in our case play .500 hockey. It is better for our young guys to finally learn the system and win some games as opposed to losing confidence and us fans having no hope for a better season next year.

Sure, if we were to tank, we would get an amazing pick with Malkin coming over. But, as we have seen, our problems are bigger than just adding 2 great players.

Should take out the last option. Make people choose between one or the other. I just think people will vote the easy way out and choose the last one.

But being a big Pens fan that watches every game, a run and playing .500 would be like watching some playoff games compared to how they are playing now. Go for the run!!

This season is done. Get a solid pick and sign a UFA quality defenseman this summer.

These young guys need to taste victory and know what it's like to play winning hockey. Win and let the chips falls where they may.....

No thanks. Id stay far away from UFAs. Better to move that #1 pick for a mid 20's but seasoned defenceman. No more high milage FA's that may not like it here. And dont kid yourself, The Penguins may be getting that rep back that they had in the late 70s and early 80s when no one really wanted to come here.

I'm all for fighting their way out of the cellar, such as they tried to do during 03-04, and I don't think this team has given up yet.

It's been a strange season so far that's for sure. With Mario and Palfy's surprising mid-season retirements, MT calling out the team, as well as the "Will they stay in Pittsburgh?" questions.

I say let's just see how things go. But there's always the lean towards getting a chance at Kessel to play with Crosby and Malkin next year.

When you look at it, the glass doesn't just seem half full, it's getting filled to the rim!

Go for the top draft pick! I'm not worried about the character of Crosby, Fleury, Whitney, et all....they will learn to win soon enough. They know their hands are tied by the shortage of players on this team with actual NHL skill. Another top pick and a Malkin will do wonders for this team.

You play to win, regardless, but I think fans should be rooting for wins especially in this case, given the circumstances.

This organization has many good young prospects, including three that are among the best leaguewide at the position, and two that may be generational talents.

More importantly, several of this teams prospects who will have to come together in the future anyways are already on this team. If this team isn't able to be relatively competitive, no Phil Kessel or Erik Johnson is going to change that drastically.

The coach and these players need to be focused on this season and building for the future with their core of young players. I'm not expecting or even hoping for a massive winning streak, but this team should be playing to win games and should be competitive every night.

They are going to end up with a high pick regardless, though, just because of where they are in the standings.
