Huge Upset Dumps Goligoski, Kessel from NCAA Tournament

Post by Mad City Mike »

Holy Cross beat Minnesota. Yes, you read that right. Holy Cross dumped the Gophers from the NCAA tournament. I didn't even know Holy Cross had a hockey team :D. Both Kessel and Goligoski had goals.

Goligoski's goal was very skillful.

Another example of him being the left handed Sergei Zubov. He had a couple of shots where he was patient with the puck and changed the shooting angle.

Guyer, Potulny, Irman, Briggs, Harrington and a few others had bad games. This could be the biggest upset in NCAA history.

The announcers said Kessel is the first Wisconsin kid ever to play hockey for the Univ of Minn. That sounds unbelievable, but if true it would explain some of the backlash against him.

Lefthanded? Hockeysfuture.com has him listed as a righthanded shot.

Well, Hockeysfuture is wrong, he is definately left-handed.

Right, and everything I've seen, including the Pens site lists him as being righty. That's odd.

Maybe he's trying to fit in better on the Pens blue line, so he's changed hands.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet, especially at garbage fan sites like HF. I've watched him play ~ 25 times and he definitely is LH. He played the entire game last night LH as he has every other game I've watched, so unless he changed "hands" in the past 19 hours the Pens site is also wrong.

Why am I suddenly reminded of The Princess Bride?
