But again, I agree with IE. If we narrow it down to 50/50, does that really help? I would rather roll the dice and get it down to 2-3 names. Going back to NAN's question, there are 3 people with numbers in their username, and I am one of them.

Re: ***CLUE WARS GAME THREAD***
I like this one more than nan's. His question only gives 3 possibilities and if it's wrong, there is a lot of people that could have had a bow tie. At least with this one it basically cuts the field in half and can move on from there in the next day phase and cut it down some more.the errey i breathe wrote:How about to expand on NAN's ?
Did someone with an "I" in their username wear a bowtie
This gives us 9 possible options whereas I think NAN's only gives us a couple.

Personally, I agree, it's what's called a binary search and eliminates the most people as quickly as possible. Do it a couple of times and you reduce the size of the suspect pool significantlythe errey i breathe wrote:I think we need to look at what gives us almost a 50/50 split, that way we can eliminate a solid number of people for the time being while we focus on this bowtie...if that is the plan which it seems like it is.

Considering this is the first time we've had this option, I'm willing to take a bit of a risk in our questions. But that's just me.pittsports87 wrote:I like this one more than nan's. Was the person wearing the tie staying in an odd or even room number?
Doh!...I need to change that:

It's the gamblers dilemma, do you take the sure thing (50%) or gamble now. I'd rather wait to gamble and take the sure 50% eshafnutz05 wrote:But again, I agree with IE. Re: ***CLUE WARS GAME THREAD***
Why would you simply limit it to user names with numbers? Why not ask about a set range of room numbers?
For example: Were any of the guests staying in rooms 1-5 seen wearing a bowtie?

Shouldn't we determine first whether the bowtie actually belonged to the murderer?

With a 50/50 either way we can trust half of the players. With NAN's we can trust 3. This is assuming that we get NO answers to both questions. Could it be that you're willing to take that risk because you have an I in your name but not a number and would be cleared for a while by NAN's question?IrishEyes wrote:Considering this is the first time we've had this option, I'm willing to take a bit of a risk in our questions. Yeah I agree with that as well and with what shaf is saying, it is probably a risk worth taking. Benny, can you unask questions and vote for a different one? If so I want to unask teib's question and vote for nan's question instead (I don't know what color we would be using to unask questions if we can).IrishEyes wrote:Considering this is the first time we've had this option, I'm willing to take a bit of a risk in our questions. Re: ***CLUE WARS GAME THREAD***
I would go with the question that eliminates half the people. Did the killer stay in an even number room? Something like that.
Are we sure there is 1 killer?

That's dumb. Only eliminating 3 at a time will take way too long.

I'm down for any variation of the question. I just picked the number in the names because if the answer was yes, we can have a more narrow focus right away. But I also understand the 50/50, then go from there method. Might take us longer, but clears more people up front.

Re: ***CLUE WARS GAME THREAD***
Ok so if we get a NO answer to NAN's question we can trust 2 or 3 people. Splitting it in half gives us 10 people we can "trust." I'd rather be able to count on 10 than 3 personally.shafnutz05 wrote:But again, I agree with IE. If we narrow it down to 50/50, does that really help? To be honest, teib, I didn't even think about the fact that I had an i in my username. I stand by my opinion. If everyone else votes for your question, then fine. But we've never had this option before and we've done fine without it. Why not take the risk?the errey i breathe wrote:With a 50/50 either way we can trust half of the players. Re: ***CLUE WARS GAME THREAD***
I can't imagine this game working with only 1 killer. That's why we're using the bowtie in the question. Which means, any variation of the question here doesn't necessarily clear anyone from being a red. It just means they weren't wearing a bowtie.Zarovich wrote:Are we sure there is 1 killer?
