Re: NCAA Basketball Polls that are completely busted
I think it would be a "hoot" to know what the odds in Vegas before the 1st tip-off were of Geo Mason winning the whole thing. Had to be at least 10,000 to 1, and I *still* wouldn't have taken that bet.conforto45 wrote:who woulda thunk it that there would be NO number 1 seeds in the Final Four?

I read an article about this last night... apparently the odds for GM were 300-1 in one place and 400-1 in another. Apparently one person placed a $20 wager at the 400-1 odds... meaning they will get $8k if GM wins it all.
It's really sad... I had 6 of the 8 teams correct going into the Elite 8... now I have 1 team left (UCLA). How ridiculous is that?

Given that there were 65 teams and probably 60 of them had more "juice" than GM, I'm surprised the odds weren't longer.the wicked child wrote:I read an article about this last night... apparently the odds for GM were 300-1 in one place and 400-1 in another. If I was a GM student struggling to make tuition, I *kill* myself for not placing a small bet
