I don't like blind voting. Seems odd slappy is the dead choice coming out of the last phase.

Yeah. It has turned out to be not nearly as interesting as I'd hoped.relantel wrote:I don't like blind voting.
But it's just a small experiment.

He had two votes against him last voting phase. Seems like someone latched on to that.relantel wrote:I don't like blind voting. Seems odd slappy is the dead choice coming out of the last phase.

The PM format strips the history, and makes little sense as a true setup can't be engaged without it. About the only conclusion I can draw is the EPP vote must have struck blood?Sam's Drunk Dog wrote:He had two votes against him last voting phase. Why do you draw this conclusion?relantel wrote:The PM format strips the history, and makes little sense as a true setup can't be engaged without it. Re: *** Experiment #3 Game Thread ***
Naturally the blind voting isn't going to be successful if we don't engage in any dialogue. I don't remember reading anywhere that we can't discuss our votes in the thread, just that the actual submission is blind.
This happens too often. We make a slight change to the shape of the game and people stop playing the game like they normally would.
I think the blind voting could work just fine if we approached this as a normal game and talked everything out rather than just sitting here twiddling our thumbs while redwill accumulates PM votes.

Just to reiterate: Anyone can say anything he likes (with the exception of posting PMs) here in the game thread.
People can say who they voted for, role-claim, lie through their teeth, etc.

With the time it took for EPP to be lynched yesterday, I think he could possibly have been a red. Quick vote, to me, would have indicated a pile up by reds, although I suppose there are probably only 2 reds out there so maybe they were the initial two on EPP.
Reds probably won't be shy about voting together, though. That seems like at least one thing we can watch for.

Looking back, the quick two votes on EPP before any game discussion at all may point to the two reds jumping on him right out of the gates. My current vote is for thg, and I'll stick with that based upon this theory.Kraftster wrote:With the time it took for EPP to be lynched yesterday, I think he could possibly have been a red. As I stood by yon roofless tower,
Where the wa'flower scents the dewy air,
Where the howlet mourns in her ivy bower,
And tells the midnight moon her care.
The winds were laid, the air was still,
The stars they shot alang the sky;
The fox was howling on the hill,
And the distant echoing glens reply.
The stream, adown its hazelly path,
Was rushing by the ruin'd wa's,
Hasting to join the sweeping Nith,
Whase distant roaring swells and fa's.

Where the howlet mourns in her ivy bower,
And tells the midnight moon her care.

I originally voted for canaan on my first vote, but switched to EPP after he jumped out and started implicating me to save his butt. To me, I thought he was trying to cast the focus off of him and shift it to someone else, which seemed fishy as people that are blue typically just try to get the blame off of themselves w/o implicating anyone else.
So that is my voting history.

I got two quick votes, and I'm suspicious because EPP was naming me, and he got voted out.
I'm a very easy target.

I haven't voted yet since I have nothing to go on at this point. If it comes down to making a vote, NAN may be my choice only because of his non-involvement in some prior games.

I made that post without seeing NAN's two posts above. So I have no idea who I will vote for at this point.

Re: *** Experiment #3 Game Thread ***
In the interest of full disclosure, I was the one no vote from yesterday.
I really think that we should be minimizing the impact of the blind voting on the game. That the voting is blind will allow people to lie in the game thread about their vote, but if we stay on top of things, the voting, I think we should be able to isolate the potential liars. And if someone has an issue with indicating who they are voting for, I think that we should justifiably look at that with significant suspicion.

I voted for slappy in yesterday's phase, with little thought largely because I was on my phone. I wasn't liking the EPP vote per se, and slappy already had a vote. based on his death, not a good vote on my part.

I voted for EPP. My reason was the same as NAN's. EPP tried to place the blame on THG instead of explaining why he wasn't red. THG could have been indicating that he voted for NAN.
Kraftster, why didn't you vote for anyone?

I originally thought he would have been indicating that he voted for nan, but the count after thg's post had no nan vote, so I assume it was EPP.Sam's Drunk Dog wrote:I voted for EPP. A quick vote on Day 1 indicates that I'm Red. Ha. A quick vote on Day 1 is nothing more than the village taking control of their fate by eliminating someone who indecisive and inexperienced.Kraftster wrote:Looking back, the quick two votes on EPP before any game discussion at all may point to the two reds jumping on him right out of the gates. A quick two votes on one player. The first time there was a vote count, there were four votes, two on the same person. That could have been coincidence, sure, but it does, at a minimum, hint at coordination. The vote should not be viewed as a vote in a normal game. It is the best that I can come up with to go on.thehockeyguru wrote:A quick vote on Day 1 indicates that I'm Red. Ha. The thinking is reinforced by the fact that it took so long for EPP to be lynched. When the vote was at 3 or 4, the bads would have likely jumped on to end it. What's to stop them with anonmyous voting? The fact that he started at 2 right away and then took the rest of the day to only climb to 4 also suggests to me that the reds were on early.
Its hardly a great theory, but it something to work with in an otherwise blind game.
